I'm on the A Jillian Vance Design blog today with this 'out of the cup' coffee card for the Spring/Summer Coffee Lover's Blog Hop.

Essentials by Ellen February Release - Coffee

There are two new coffee sets in the February Essentials by Ellen release! A Breve Note has lots of classic coffee images along with some pretty funny sentiments, and I knew immediately I had to make this card, inspired by the Chaos & Darkness sentiment!

I started with a square panel of white cardstock. I masked off the 'almost-v' in the centre and swirled some brown Catherine Pooler inks on the edges, to create a coffee-coloured impression of chaos and darkness. It was strange to NOT be trying to get a smooth blend, but fun to use this method to create some texture. I sprtized the panel with water for some more texture, but made sure not to leave the water on for too long - I used Neenah here.

Once the darkness was done, I blended the 'light'. I used a blender brush to make sure I got a smooth blend on this one - this card is a study in opposites!

I finished by stamping the sentiment and the steam, and then adding the two coffee cups (which were coloured with Copics and decorated with a stamp from Latte Love).

Muse 275 - Fabulous

Here's my card for this week's Muse Challenge, where Kim gave us this inspiration:

I focused on Kim's:

-coffee theme

-polka dots

-rainbow of pastel colours

I reversed Kim's dots - I put them on the centre and left the space around them blank. I used similar pastel colours as the donus on my dots.

Here's my card for this week's Muse Card Club, where Kim gave us this adorable inspiration:

I focused on Kim's:
-bunch of elements on the bottom half of the card
-black sentiment above
-neutral colours with red accents

I stamped and cut 3 masks for my coffee cup and created a big group of them. I coloured them with Copics and added a sentiment.

Today, Tracey and I are using Coffee Date from MFT Stamps for Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day colouring challenge.

I did some masking and used just a few copics. I finished with a sentiment from A Jillian Vance Design's newest coffee-themed stamp set .

Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

I'm playing along with the Fall Coffee Lovers Blog Hop today, using some of my favourite coffee-themed products from SugarPea Designs.

I started by cutting the cup, lid and sleeve and then blended distress ink on the sleeve. I stamped the circular sentiment and found a little pumpkin to fit inside. I coloured that with Copics and then cut the circle and popped it up on my lid.

I created a kraft panel and stamped the sentiment and pile of leaves using my MISTI. I then removed the kraft panel from my MISTI and stamped them again onto a post it note. Leaving the post it note in place, I positioned my cup so that I could stamp the leaves again with a portion of them on the cup.

Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop (SPD)

Don't you just love the size of the coffee compared to the woman? I know many coffee drinkers feel like this!

I started with a craft panel and created a frame with the line of beans. I cut the cup and sleeve and stamped the sentiment and 'caffeine addict' label.  Next, I stamped and die cut my coffee-drinker. Here's a video of the copic colouring.

Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop (AJVD)

Today, the A Jillian Vance Design team is participating in the Coffee Lovers' Blog Hop. Since I'm currently guest designing for AJVD this summer, I thought I would join in.

When I first saw this stamp set, I laughed out loud. Given the current political agenda in Canada of legalizing marijauna the word 'pothead' brings out the immature me. Such a fun, slightly shocking pun.

I stamped a tone-on-tone background using the various sentiments in Pothead, then stamped this super-cool, graphic coffee pot. I colured the coffee with copics and then cinnamon stickles.

Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop

Yay! SugarPea Designs  is one of the Super Sponsors of the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop and the Design Team is playing along!

This is my first time playing along. I'm not a coffee drinker and I don't have a lot of coffee stamps, but this set from SugarPea has the cutest images and sentiments around. The matching dies are adorable too!

I was inspired by a certain coffee shop's new spring cups, and decided to try some loose watercolouring. I stamped a row of cups, painted them with distress inks and then popped up one cup that had been cut with the matching dies. I finished off with some coffee rings for authenticity! lol!

CASology 218 - Coffee

This week's CASology Cue Card is Coffee!

I decided to let my sentiment and colour choices speak for themselves, to make this simple, masculine thank you card. I tried to keep my proportions similar to a well-known take out coffee cup and added a coffee-themed sentiment from Essentials by Ellen.

SPDMIU14 - Love You More

FS500 - COFFEE!

This week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper is Marg Mortimer (aka Margscardcrazy).
I chose this card as my inspiration:

 

I was inspired by Marg's:
-coffee theme
-rainbow grid layout (I used it as a background)

I changed:
-added the monkey
-overall layout

Once I was finished with my focal point and sentiment, I created my background by laying a stencil over my panel to guide the placement of my rainbow coffee beans.

SPDMIX12 - For Someone Special

This is my card for the current SugarPea Designs Mix It Up Challenge.

My first thought was that I didn't have a clue how to use the photo - vintage is not really my style! But then I focused on the colours. These are great colours for a masculine card, and mixing it up with the sketch inspiration, I was able to put together a fun coffee-themed card.
