FS607 - Sympathy

Congratulations to this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper, Angelica Turner. I chose this card as my inspiration:

I focused on Angelica's:
-square card
-circle focal image
-strip across the card
-centre sentiment
-thin black mats

I changed:
-technique
-occasion
-fewer layers

I used a really fun technique with ColourBursts that I learned from Jenny C last week. It's quite simple and it gives unique, artistic results without completely losing control (this is key for me! lol!)

I stamped the wreath stamp with clean water onto watercolourcardstock. Then I sprinkled Lime Green colourburst powder over it and just waited for it to dry. The powder only starts to spread where there's water, so I ended up with a wreath shape of gorgeous blue/green/yellow colour. To add definition, I stamped the wreath over top, and embossed it with Platinum Sparkle embossing powder from Wow!

Sugar cookies are my weakness, but my paper version of my favourite treat is just as sweet, with no calories! I stamped and masked the cookies and then coloured them with Copic markers. I blended some Antique Linen Distress Ink for a warm glow and stamped my sentiment.

These cards show you how this Diagonal Stripe Cover Plate creates two cards for one! I blended ink onto one panel before cutting. I used the full panel for one card and a few of the cut out stripes for another.

SugarPea Designs February Release Sweet Peeks - Day 5

Good morning! Today is the final day of SugarPea Designs' Sweet Peek Week and all of the products will be available tonight at 6 pm EST.

Today we're introducing Better Together stamps and Dies and the Diagonal Stripe CoverPlate.

This small set is full of fun images and sentiments to make wonderful 'love' cards. I stamped, masked and coloured my PB&J with copics on the oval portion of the Large Oval Striped Cover Plate we introduced the other day. I cut it down to use on my square card and left it white on white, so it just adds a bit of interest without any clutter.

I'm linking this one up to CASology 287 where the Cue Card is Together.

Here, I used the stripes out of the Diagonal Striped Cover Plate and the largest rectangle in the Card Front Element Builder set. I blended ink onto each stripe, leaving it lighter in the centre.

SugarPea Designs February Release Sweet Peeks - Day 3

Good morning! Day 3 of Sweet Peeks and today we're introducing the sweetest new critter set - Otterly Adorable and a new cover plate - Large Striped Cover Plate.

I started by creating a ocean background on watercolour cardstock. I used Zig Art & Graphic Twin Tip markers and water to create my ocean and to colour this pair of adorable otters.  (The white oval is from the previously-released Popcorn Treat Box die set).

For a different look, I made another panel using the markers in rainbow colours and this time inlaid the stripes into a white die cut. I tipped it on its side and used the new Hello die and a portion of one of the Heartfelt Sympathy sentiments.

SugarPea Designs February Release Sweet Peeks - Day 2

It's Day 2 of the Sweet Peeks at SugarPea Designs' newest release. Today we've got a new Sympathy set with a Sympathy die that will make those difficult but necessary cards a little easier to make.

I used the Pretty Peonies set with minimal colouring to get a soft, peaceful look. I inlaid the Sympathy die.

Again, one of the Pretty Peonies, but this time featuring one of the many sympathy sentiments included in this versatile set.

MCV93 - Rainbow Christmas Wishes

Here's my card for the current Muse: ChristmasVisions challenge where Cornelia brought us this magical inspiration:

I focused on Cornelia's:

-rainbow colours with black and white

-tree theme

I decided to 'reverse' my card - I created my sky on a watercolour panel with Zig Art & Graphic Twin Tip markers. I scribbled then spritzed and left it overnight to dry. Once it was dry, I spritzed it again for some texture and then cut it with SugarPea's TreeScapedie cut before inlaying another one in white. I finished with a Flurry of Warm Wishes sentiment with Midnight ink.

SugarPea Designs February Release Sweet Peeks - Day 1

Good morning! It's been a while since the last SugarPea release and I'm so excited to be able to start showing you peeks at the new products that will be available for purchase on Friday at 6 pm! I think this is SugarPea's best release yet! (Do I say that every time? It's true - they just keep getting better and better!)

Today, we're featuring our newest floral set, Pretty Peonies, the Hello die and a must-have die set Card Front Element Builders.

I coloured my flowers with watercolour markers and spritzed with water before stamping to get this watercoloured look. I inlaid a black hello into the white panel. I used one of the edges from the Card Front Element builder sets. I love the high-contrast feel of this card!

For this card, I used the scalloped rectangle to cut my panel, but didn't use the whole thing, since my card is square. Bold fuschia peonies are my favourite - I used some bright pink Copics to colour this bunch!
