Voices in My Head Blog Hop (Ellen Hutson Summer of Stamping)

Good morning! It's time for the next Essentials by Ellen Summer of Stamping Release, and Julie has nailed it with 3 new sets in her Voices in My Head series! We're having a blog hop today (details below) so be sure to hop and comment for your chance to win!

I was inspired by every cartoon we've ever seen that had a 'good' voice and a 'bad' voice speaking to someone, and these sets worked together with the original VIMH set perfectly to create what I had envisioned!

I kept the colour to a minimum - pale red for the 'bad' voice and blue for the 'good' voice, blended through a negative mask created by the speech bubble die from High Five, another EBE set that works well with these ladies.

I  used an older sentiment from Unicorns and Rainbows that I thought was appropriate!

Three Sweet Card Ideas using Catherine Pooler Forever 13 (Plus Blog Hop!)

click here for my 30 Days Colouring post.

Good morning! Today the Ellen Hutson Design Ambassadors are hopping with some products from Catherine Pooler's latest release - Forever 13! Details are below.

As I often do, I fixated (who, me?!) on one stamp from Sweet Life and explored it for a while. Here's the evolution of my thinking:

Watermelon semi-circle stamped in rows to create a solid, vertical background. Finished with a sentiment and a smile made from the watermelon rind and a solid dot stamp from the set.

Similar idea, but horizontal, and I created full circles with the semi-circle stamp rather than offsetting them. I started adding tone on tone 'decorative elements' and of course I immediately saw those dots as eyes.

So I made some bees, and created my own sentiment with some masking. This card also has 3 of the patterned papers on it and I want you to notice something. Both the dot patterns fit perfectly on an A2 size card - there is symmetry when I used them as borders - that, my friends, is called good design, which we always get with Catherine's products!

Spotlight Stamping (Ellen Hutson/Power Poppy Blog Hop)

Today some of the Ellen Hutson Design Ambassadors are hopping with Power Poppy Designers, to show of the newest release that is available now! (Hop details are below)

I did some spot light stamping, and started by stamping the Big Sexy Blooms stamp with pale gray ink on white card stock.

Then I inked the lower left area with black ink and stamped another piece of card stock before colouring in the daisy with Copic markers.

I used a circle die to cut out the daisy, and then used larger circle dies to create frames, which I also coloured with Copic markers.

I stamped a sentiment from Strong & Beautiful and coloured in the outline letters so that they would be more visible on the stamped background.

And I finished with some Pretty Pink Posh jewels that matched the colours I chose for the double-frame.

    Here's a video:

Tall Card with Extended Die Cut (Scrap 'n Stamp Stamp out Cancer Blog Hop)

I'm excited to be part of the Scrap 'n Stap Stamp Out Cancer blog hop today! My friend, Nancy, is a member of the DT and invited me to participate. Please visit her blog to read about her experience. And stay to check out her cards - she has a beautiful clean and simple style!

I decided to go to my Pinterest board for some inspiration. Are you like me? I pin and pin and then forget to go back when I need inspiration! LOL!

When I got there, I found this:
I was inspired by the pretty florals in bright colours, the subtle sentiment on a white panel, and I thought a tall card would be a perfect way to try something new.

I started by watercolouring the Hero Arts Flower Garden coverplate die cut from watercolour cardstock, using Catherine Pooler re-inkers. Re-inkers give a more vibrant result than the ink pads.

I spritzed the panel with the new Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spray and then I cut it with my trimmer.

My Oyster cardbase was 4.25 x 8.5, and I cut a white panel that was 4 x 8.25 for the flowers and sentiment,

I created a panel for my sentiment that would hide the gap between the two pieces of the die cut and then added a stamped and die cut sentiment using Essentials by Ellen products.

For a finishing touch, I added some Nuvo Dream Drops in the flower centres and as embellishments on the sentiment panel. I used the same colour on all areas, but I love how they took on the colours of the flowers underneath!
