IB84 - Celebrate

I made this fun card for the current Inspired by All the Little Things challenge:

I focused on:
-layers of colour
-circles
-dripping chocolate icing

I started by creating my watercolour panel - I smooshed Distress Oxide inks (one at a time) onto my craft mat and then laid a portion of my panel into the ink. I dried it before doing the same with the next colour.

Once the panel was dry, I cut it with a square die and then used this Scattered Circles Strip Die (pictured above) from A Jillian Vance Design to create holes all over - I think it looks bubbly and fun!

I used the Grande Greetings Celebrate die (also from A Jillian Vance Design). I think the swoopy font mimics the chocolate dripping down the side of the cake.

IB72, MUSE242 - Fa La La

So. I'm the Muse this week! Our poor friend Tracey is on the DL (broken collarbone), but still managing to keep up with all the work she does for her 25 Days of Christmas Tags feature (if you don't know it, be sure to drop by and see - it's amazing - so much talent and so many prizes available!). Anyway, I've stepped in with this card that I also made for this week's Inspired By All the Little Things Challenge.

I focused on:
-white tree on grey background
-white 'ornaments'

IB62 - Brighten My Day

This is my colourful card for this week's Inspired by All the Little Things:

I focused on the bright umbrellas and the way they overlapped each other. To try to get a similar look, I inked up a background stamp with Tombow Dual-Brush pens (but I'm sure it would work with any water-based markers, including Zig Art&Graphic Twin Tip Markers), then spritzed it with water before pressing it onto some watercolour cardstock. I love that you can still see the shapes and curves, but the colours have run and blended a bit. I created my sentiment from two different stamp sets, using some creative masking. Here's a video:

I should have kept the camera on a little longer - I just dabbed those darker areas with a paper towel and the colours 'cleared' right up.

IB61 - You're the Best

I love blue flowers - they're so unexpected and somehow they seem to just glow!  And while I had my Mondo Hydrangea out for yesterday's card, I made a card for this week's Inspired by All the Little Things:

But, as often happens, I had some trouble making up my mind about which direction to go. I ended up with two other cards as well!

You just know that this one appeals to my CAS, minimal mind. I used a stencil and Distress Inks.

I love this big flower stencil (had it forever and I have no idea who made it - I was thinking it might be Hero Arts, but I can't find it) and I used Distress Inks.

I focused on the flowers and the window.

IB60 - Thanks

Here's my card for this week's Inspired by All the Little Things challenge, where my friend Jen is the Guest. Here's our inspiration:

I focused on:
-floral theme
-corner placement of flowers
-tone-on-tone sentiment

I used a very simple colouring treatment that resulted in these soft colours. I started by stamping and embossing the flowers and leaves on Bristol.  I scribbled with a Zig Clean Color Marker in each centre and then spritzed with water to spread the colour a bit.
