25 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 - Day 7

Welcome to Day 7 of this year's 25 Days of Christmas Tags event. All the details can be found here on Tracey's blog.

Today's sponsor is Uniko, and my tag today is another example of simple stamping. I love how crisp, black ink always looks so stunning on kraft cardstock, and the pop of red from the ribbon is the perfect finishing touch!

Uniko Birthday

Today I'm playing along with the current Uniko challenge:

I created a wash mat on watercolour paper, using the same two colours of Stampin' Up! ink that I used for the flowers (Flirty Flamingo, Peekaboo Peach).

I focused on:
-floral theme
-the colours
-the close placement of the elements
-white background

I used:
-Flower Power #7
-All Occasions Sentiments #2
-Simply Said Birthday

Uniko Guest (Part 2)

If you can believe it, this is my second guest post today. For my MFT post, please scroll down.

I'm also back today with the second of my Uniko Guest posts (here's the first). I've been working with All Occasion Sentiments #6  and I just love how well they work with all of the previous sets Uniko has released.

My first card was inspired by this pin. I used the daisy from Flower Power #7. I love the vibrant colour combination, but of course, I wanted some white space! I love how Beverley designed the 'you make me' (and the 'be your own kind of') bits of the sentiments to fit right into the main words ('smile' and beautiful').  I finished with the 3 hearts from Flower Power #3.

For my second card, I used Beautiful from the current release, and the rest of the sentiment is from All Occasion Sentiments #3. I created a background by die cutting and inlaying the beautiful graphic flower from Time. I sponged the panel as well as the cardbase in warm sunny colours.

I love the casual, handwritten feeling of the 'smile' sentiment and decided to have a little fun with it! I used simple die cut shapes to create a funny face that is sure to make the recipient smile.

I want to thank Bev for inviting me to Guest this month - what an privilege to be an honourary member of the Design Team!

Uniko Challenge - Summer

This is my card for Uniko's current challenge: Summer, with the optional twist of being inspired by this photo:

Well, that's quite a place, now isn't it? I was inspired by the colours and by the use of the outline hearts. I used Flower Power #7, All Occasion Sentiments2, and Simply Said Birthday.

I stamped all the black first, in Versafine, and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the solid flowers, slightly offsetting them from the outlines to create parts that were 'inside' the outline. Those 'inside' portions were then shaded with Copics in matching, but slightly darker shades, for additional depth and contrast.

ETA (Sept 11): I was chosen as one of the top 3!

USC21 - Flower Birthday

I had a busy week last week. Lots of events at our school and church (including 3 bake sales!) and it was so hard to watch the happy mail come in and not be able to play! Finally, last night I had a few minutes to sit down and play. I pulled out Uniko Studio's latest Flower Power (#7 to be exact). I love this graphic, symmetrical solid daisy and its matching outline!

I created a rainbow of 'loose' daisies (solids stamped then two outlines for each) and finished with a sentiment from Simply Said Birthday. And sparkly black enamel dots for centres.

I'm linking up to Uniko's Flower challenge.
