This is my card for Uniko's current challenge: Summer, with the optional twist of being inspired by this photo:
Well, that's quite a place, now isn't it? I was inspired by the colours and by the use of the outline hearts. I used Flower Power #7, All Occasion Sentiments2, and Simply Said Birthday.
I stamped all the black first, in Versafine, and then embossed it with clear embossing powder. I then stamped the solid flowers, slightly offsetting them from the outlines to create parts that were 'inside' the outline. Those 'inside' portions were then shaded with Copics in matching, but slightly darker shades, for additional depth and contrast.
ETA (Sept 11): I was chosen as one of the top 3!
Perfect!
ReplyDeleteLike Marion said...perfect! Love how you stamped the flowers.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! (and perfect!)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful stamping !

Cool! I love how the flowers are offset. I didn't even notice the shading at first, but love the subtle way it gives more dimension.
ReplyDeleteI first looked closely at your card, then I looked closely at the inspiration photo before I read your post. My eyes were first drawn to those hearts, as were yours! (I'd like to think that great minds think alike, lol!). Love how you've taken those hearts and inside/outsided them. Really great CAS take on this challenge. Have a great week sweet friend. Bev
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet card!! Love the flowers!
ReplyDeleteWhat a colorful, whimsical, and perfect take on the Heart Cottage photo, Ardy! Thank you for joining the fun over at Uniko's SUMMER challenge!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSure didn't take long for my Fav Ardyth card to get replaced...just minutes (and one post previous!)
ReplyDeleteThis is incredible! The way you shaded the flowers is fabulous! Embossing with clear ep would definitely seal the VF ink and keep it from bleeding into the color - what a great idea! Gonna try this right away!
Simply CAS-tastic Ardyth! Striking, eye-poppingly gorgeous and just shows Less is definitely more! Love it and thanks for sharing at Uniko. Sarah x
