Sunny with a Side of Sparkle Blog Hop Day 1

Today is Day 1 of 3 Days of blog hops to celebrate the new release at Catherine Pooler Designs!

I'm not on the blog hop today, but I've included the list below so you can hop and comment for your chance to win.

Today I made a couple of cards with the new Twisted Sunburst Stencil. The sun-rays are curved and that little design feature opens up so many fun possibilities!

My first card (above) shows what happens when you blend ink over the stencil, then flip it over and blend another colour. I love the geometric look and decided not to cover up any more than I had to. I simply added a sentiment from the new Say it With Diamonds set and few sequins. I hear one of the other Creative Team members did this same technique in rainbow colours (now why didn't I think of that?!) so be sure to keep an eye out for that!

My second card also uses the stencil. Again, I used 2 colours (Limoncello and Fiesta Blue), but I just moved the stencil a bit so that I could fill in the blue 'sky' between the sun rays. To fill in the sun, I just tapped a blender with Limoncello over the centre.  I also added a coat of Versamark ink over the yellow rays and embossed it with Wanderlust embossing powder - so sparkly in real life! I finished the card with a sentiment from Bon Voyage (all the products from the Love is in the Air Stamp of Approval Collection are also now available!)

Here's the blog list - be sure to comment for your chance to win!
