This week's CASology Cue Card is Grass
Although my grass is a small element, it's noticeable because it's the only pop of colour on an otherwise black and white card. I love how the size of the little white pompom I used for the ball gives some perspective - because it looks 'big' in comparison to the A Muse golfer, it's like he's further away and the ball is popping off the card. Yes, I totally planned that! ;-)
I created my little 'hill' of grass with a swipe of a Copic marker. You can see that by resting the marker on the panel for a second before moving it to the left, I got different shades of green and different thickness of the line. Experiment to see what effects you can come up with!
Anyway, now it's your turn. Don't forget to get some more inspiration by popping by the blogs of the rest of the DT:

Awesome "swoosh" of grass! I'm totally envious of this cuz I have tried this technique a kazillion times and usually end up with a blotch of blah! Love the fluffy golf ball :)
ReplyDeleteNike would be impressed!
Oh perfect. I love the masculine card today.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely the most brilliant idea for the cue Ardyth--love this!
ReplyDeleteThis card is tee-rific too! Love your idea, design, pop of colour and 3D golf ball! Ticks all the boxes for me!
ReplyDeleteGenius! Just a swoosh of Copics? Genius!

ReplyDeleteArdy, you are such an artist! I might think of a swipe, but never how to make my swipe flow with an ombre effect!! I aspire! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteAha! I was wondering how you did that fabulous grass swipe! Now I know! Clever, as always!

ReplyDeleteI love your little pop of grass Ardyth! I love the whole card actually! That little golfer guy is fabulous and wish he was in my stash. lol I love that you put the pompom on there for the ball, it really does look like it is coming right off the page and that the golfer is way off in the distant. Totally awesome! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteLove your swoosh for grass. And, now you FB video makes total sense to me. I guess I'm a bit slow today. Brilliant to have just a pop of color on an otherwise B&W card--emphasized even more because your man is an outline figure.
ReplyDeleteThis is genius all the way around. Love the Copic swipe and the pom pom ball!
ReplyDeleteArdyth, this is just amazing. Love the movement, the minimal colors, and the puff ball! Perfect!
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of your card, Ardyth! My husband lives for golf. How I wish I had that stamp. Your swoosh of grass is genius as is the pom Pom golf ball. I would totally CASE this card if I could :)
