Birthday Grid

This card is for my nephew. His name is James and he's turning 3. You probably figured that out already! You know that I like to play with words and colour on my cards, so when I realized that James and three both have the same number of letters, I knew I wanted to make some kind of a grid and this card started to come together.

Not too quickly, though. I tried stamping directly onto a panel, but I couldn't get the letter blocks straight (despite a using a clear block that is supposed to let you see exactly where you're stamping). So I dug out the matching die for this Papertrey Alphabet and cut way more tiles than I needed, so I could have lots of do-overs!

Actually, doing it this way was quite soothing. When I messed up the final 'e', I just redid the tile rather than having to throw away the whole card. That made for a nice change! lol!

  18. James is going to love this card for as long as a 3 year old loves things...but his mother is going to go gaga over this card...forever!

Thanks for sharing your "how to save a card" process with us! I'm usually blue in the face and light headed by the time I get to the last image to be stamped on a card....and that is usually when I drop the inked stamp on the card!
