OLW143 - Lady Bugaloos
Susan's hosting OLW this week and the challenge is to use bugs. She referred to an old kids TV program called Bugaloos, so I followed the childhood theme.
This card came from a Discovery Kids online game that my kids used to play when they were little. (I took a quick look but I couldn't find it there). It was like Classic Bubble Breaker (on my phone), but with bugs. They fell in rows and you had to group them together in groups of the same bugs. The larger the group you got of same bugs together before you cleared it, the more points you got. And the bugs wiggled! I tried to capture that movement by stamping this little ladybug in all orientations. The ladybug stamp is an OLD one from Walmart and the sentiment is from Ditto.

Okay, so your shadows are so realistic that at first glance I honestly thought these sweet wee red ladies were cut out and popped up with some foam tape...or on second glance....maybe they are!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! There is something so darn cute about ladybugs!
What a fun game idea! Your little lady bugs are amazing, Ardy! That is a lot of precision stamping and whole lot of precision coloring. Dang. It's a fun OLW idea, too! I'll try hard to make it this week.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I've never heard of that game. LOVE that you used a stamp from WAL-MART! So not glamorous, which makes your card even more charming. You work wonders, Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteSomeday, when I decide to really clean my craft room, I'm going to send you my worst stamp ever and ask if you'd make a card with it. I'd be so excited to see what magic you do.
You've definitely captured the movement of these little bugs! I've not heard of this game, but isn't bubble breaker so addictive!
ReplyDeleteLove these Ladybugs! I too thought you had paper pieced them-you have really made them pop Ardyth :)Fabulous card.

ReplyDeleteWow, your shading is fantastic. At first I thought you were breaking the number one rule of the OLW! I need to remember to add shading more often.
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute card. Just goes to show that any stamp can look like a million bucks, just depends on how you use it!
Not heard of the game but these ladybirds are so wiggly and cute ... I'm amazed at how much movement you've created with the orientation changes (33 of them!)and shading! Anita :)
