Yes, you read that title right - 4 challenges! Feeling very multi-tasky about it, too!

For MCV, I focused on Kimberly's
-theme (white snowflakes on various blue backgrounds - mine are from SSS Presents & Ornaments set, tiny dots from Lots of Dots set)
-colours - mine are Ranger Caribbean Coast and Blue Ribbon, and Stampin' Up Night of Navy
-scripty sentiment (also from Presents & Ornaments)

Muse 136 - Hello

This is my card for this week's Muse challenge. Joan has given us a beautifully watercoloured inspiration:

I focused on Joan's:
-colour scheme (I reversed the white and the kraft, my flowers are sponged with distress inks)
-basic layout
-theme (My flower is created with Hero Arts dies)
-white script sentiment (mine is Paper Smooches)

Mix-it-Up Merry Christmas

Playing along with Ellen Hutson's Mix it Up challenge, using Essentials by Ellen and WPlus9.

I used a flower from the Wild Garden die set as a poinsettia by cutting it twice, colouring it with copics and layering it. I coated the red layer in Wink of Stella and added a gold enamel dot.

For my sentiment, I used Handlettered Holiday, embossed in gold.

Paper Smooches October GD - Part 1

Today's my first post as October Guest Designer for Paper Smooches. I'm so excited to be playing with new stamps and dies and really mixing them up!

First I combined a sentiment from Holiday Cheer with the new Merry Christmas die. The Merry Christmas die was cut in white and coloured with a red Copic. To ensure my mat matched, I coloured it with the same Copic.  Then I cut and coloured some of the adorable Holiday Lights. See how you can actually hang the lights off their string (or a die-cut sentiment!). They were all coloured with copics, given two coats of Wink of Stella and then a top coat of Glossy Accents. Unfortunately, only the green decided to sparkle for the photo!

CASology 167 - Silly!

This week's CASology Cue Card is Silly!

Making this card reminded me why I hang onto certain stamps, even though I don't use them often. These eyes are from an old, old Stampendous Cupcake set. At least I think they are - I can't find the set anywhere online - it may not be Stampendous, but it had a big cupcake and lots of different faces. For the shocked mouth, I used a small oval from Paper Smooches Shadows. The sentiment is from MFT Piece of Cake.

Originally I stamped it all on a flat white panel, but it seemed a bit boring - almost too much white space! So I decided to cut out a circle to make the face look more like a face. I inlaid the circle back into the panel - you can see where the cut is, but there are no additional layers, helping to keep this card very CAS.

I know that I've seen a similar idea before but I can't remember where or when - please let me know if you know so I can give credit.

Now it's your turn to be silly! I predict a hilarious gallery this week and I just can't wait!

MCV22 - Warm Heart

Here's my card for this week's Muse: ChristmasVisions challenge, where Guest Muse Marilyn has given us this whimsical inspiration:

I focused on Marilyn's:
-colour scheme of predominantly navy and white with a little pop of colour
-snowman theme (mine is a 2007 Stampin' Up snowman from Perfect Presentation)
-navy and white layer (mine is actually stamped using a Penny Black background stamp)
-reference from the sentiment to the image (hers is ornament, mine is heart- my sentiment and heart are from Avery Elle's Polar Pals)
-general layout and stitched layers (I used MFT Pierced Squares).
