The Daily Marker 30 Day - Happy Birthday

I have teamed up with my friend Tracey once again to help us stay focused and motivated to join Kathy's The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring challenge. Today we are using Rustic Botanicals from Essentials by Ellen.

I started by stamping the flowers, varying the space between them so that there are some white areas.

I gave them 'shadows' by outlining the left and bottom areas of each petal. I love how the lines of the petals give so much dimension. I added to it by shading each coloured area with my Copics. I added clear Wink of Stella just to the colours, for a subtle touch of sparkle.

I'm back with a chilly birthday card using new products from the January Essentials by Ellen Release. These little guys from the Arctic Friends set (there are matching dies!) are adorable and make a sweet little trio of friends.

My background was made with the new Strands die and is inspired by one of my favourite Canadian artists, Leanne Spanza.

Here's a simple birthday card for the current Seize the Birthday challenge where our very own Muse DT Member Anita is the Party Guest (don't you love that title?)!

Today, Tracey and I are using Essentials by Ellen Sock Monkey (designed by another friend, Kimberly Wiener) as our colouring for Kathy Racoosin's #thedailymarker30day coloring challenge.

Birthday Fun!

Do you know my friend Kimberly? She just released her first stamp set with Essentials by Ellen and it's so adorable! It's called Sock Monkey Surprise and it has this cute monkey and all sorts of fun 'stuff' (OMG, the banana!) for him and some great sentiments, too!

Once it got here, I sat down right away to have some fun with it. I die cut and coloured a bunch of the monkeys and then played around until I came up with this fun birthday card.

I also used Essentials by Ellen's Up The Happy.

Seize the Birthday - Another Floral Multiple

Once again, I spent some time making more than one card with a stamp set - this time Artful Flowers from Simon Says Stamp. I enjoyed exploring different-but-same colour combinations - lots of pinks, corals, oranges and yellows - as well as different methods for shading the petals.

I was surprised to find that I think I prefer the softer colours (I know they're still bright!).

Seize The Birthday - Birdie Wishes

Oh, look what flew to my house yesterday! I was so excited to receive my WPlus9 order that I dropped everything to make a card right away! I chose to use the sketch from Seize The Birthday: (ETA- oops, missed the deadline!)

These birds are so cute and unique in their style that it was very easy to justify this purchase despite my determination to use more of what I already have. Let's not talk about the sentiment set that also jumped into my cart....

This bird seemed to be jumping for joy and I finally figured out that he is the french-fry bird (related to one of the sentiments in the set) and that's what is in his mouth.

I coloured him as a robin with copics (#thedailymarker 30day) and stickles and softly sponged the circle with Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn.
