LIMES: Merry Christmas Joy

Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!

I chose this card as my inspiration from the gallery of this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper, Yoorah!

LIST: Colours (metallic gold, green, blue, white, black), Techniques (watercolour with cling wrap), Elements (metallic base, white sentiment strip with stamped hello sentiment, silver edges)

INCLUDE: metallics, cling wrap background, one-word sentiments

MODIFY: (MERRY) sentiment strip is silver on black, used die cut sentiments from metallic background instead of solid background (JOY) sentiment is large die cut with white shadow rather than strip

EXCLUDE: stamping

SPIN: (JOY) - added silver glitter nativity star die cut

I was absolutely fascinated by Yoorah's background technique and gave it a try. I did it on a 5.5x8.5 piece of black cardstock so that I could make two cards. 

I used a brush and metallic watercolours and just smooshed them all over the panel, before crinkling up some cling wrap over top and let it dry. It always creates such beautiful texture. I used regular black cardstock - just be careful not to get it too wet.

I decided to make two cards to show that one inspiration can result in different interpretations, even by one card maker!
