MUSE236 - Thank You

Here's my card for this week's Muse, where Anita gave us an inspiration that uses a fun technique and autumn colours:

I focused on Anita's:
-inky technique (although I used a different one)
-fall theme
-thank you
-use of vellum

I started by stamping (using a faux-watercolour technique with markers and water) solid, multi-colour leaves in a random pattern onto watercolour cardstock. The Nuvo mist bottle is fabulous for this technique (mini-misters probably are, too) - you really want a very fine mist of water to evenly cover the stamp. After they were dry, I overstamped with the outline stamps and Versamark ink. I then embossed the outlines with gold. I didn't worry about lining them up perfectly - it adds to the movement of the leaves, I think.

For the sentiment strip, I stamped and embossed my sentiment on one strip. I cut a second strip slightly wider and embossed the whole thing so that the gold would match. I used strong adhesive to ensure that the strips would stick together.

To adhere the vellum to the cardbase, I used the same strong adhesive tape under the sentiment strip and small dots of liquid adhesive under the sequins, so that no adhesive is visible through the vellum.

I used some of Catherine Pooler's new Chocolate Premium Cardstock - it is a perfect weight for a cardbase and so smooth!

Here's a quick video:
