CASology 139 - Style

This week's CASology Cue Card is Style!

I decided to go with a fashion theme and used my new Stamplorations Newlyweds stamp (by Shirley B, by the way!).

It's a large image, so I kept my card CAS by doing the following

1) I kept the card to one layer
2) I placed the image to one side to keep a large amount of white space
3) I only coloured (and Stickled!) the flowers, to maximize white space even within the image.

I cropped the image by masking the bottom and using part of the sentiment to complete the dress. This helped the couple fit better on my square card.

I stamped it all in Hero Arts Charcoal, trying to achieve a pencil-drawing, sketch feel that is true to the image. I used a 'hand written' sentiment to help with that.

And now it's your turn - how will 'style' inspire you? Check out the blogs of the rest of the DT for more inspiration!

  1. That is such a fantastic stamp set and I am so blown away by how you did your masking to be part of the dress! I think these stamps may have to go on the list of what to bring with you on Saturday! ;)

  2. Now THIS is a stylin' card! Love how you put the sentiment and image together on the bottom - it looks seamless and I'd never have known if you hadn't mentioned it. Love the pop of pink on the flowers too.

  4. Ooh, very stylish, Ardyth! The style of the sentiment goes perfectly, and I love how you've run it across the base of the image, changing the hemline of her dress. So glad you like my stamp :)

  5. Oh Ardyth! This is a beautifully styled card...from the lovely image you chose to create with to the custom placed sentiment that becomes a cleverly engineered part of the bride's dress. Love how the sentiment works like a ground to the design too! Beautiful, clever and stylish :)))

  16. I've been staring at this for oh, 10 minutes, taking in every detail. For a CAS card, there are several wonderful things going on, but nothing overwhelms anything else. That you cropped the dress and finished it with the sentiment was sheer brilliance. The smidge of color in the bouquet is perfect. This is one elegant and lovely card. Just fantastic. Bev
