Here's my simple card for this week's Muse Challenge, where our inspiration comes from DT member Vicki Dutcher:
I actually made two cards for this. My first one uses two stamps both from Simon Says Stamp - the sentiment and dot. The fun thing about this is how I created my 'world'. It's a modified-Jennifer McGuire technique that Vicki used on her dots to give some 'dimension'.
I stamped the largest dot from "Lots of Dots" in turquoise and then inked it again in green. Before stamping, I used a tissue to remove some of the green ink from the dot. I tried it a couple of times and found that if I took it off in 3 places near the edge, I ended up with some land-looking forms. I carefully stamped it over the turquoise and voila!
Here's my second card, where I used the un-modified Jennifer McGuire technique for the dots and added vellum as well as snowflakes. (see my new Pierced Circles from MFT that I just HAD to get after seeing them in action at the Lake House?)
I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us at Muse this week! The deadline is Monday morning at 8 am. At that time, you can vote for your 3 favourites (you can choose only 1 or 2 if you want!) until Tuesday morning. Results will be posted on Tuesday at noon.
You'd be a very rich woman if we paid you for all the neat tips and tricks we learn from you, Ardy! I love both of your cool circle cards, but your "world" is a show-stopper!! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with Darnell, just let us know where we need to send the checks to. These are just amazing and I can not wait to give this a try. Thank you for the wonderful inspiration. Have fun tomorrow!
