Ring On!
This card has been a long time coming. My mom is the director of her church's handbell choir and about a year ago, I bought this little handbell stamp from Handbell Services Inc. I thought it would make a perfect "keep calm" type card. There were a number of little difficulties - the stamp is solid, but handbells are metal with a leather handle. Finally it occurred to me that I could do two-toned embossing - black for the handle, gold for the bell (or should it be silver?!). There are lots of 'keep calm' stamps around, and this one came from A Muse Studios. I cut out the 'stamp' (it was originally Keep Calm and Stamp On) and used Kelly Purkey's Plain Jane alpha to insert 'ring'.
So a cute card that will bring a smile to a limited audience but that's exactly what this hobby is all about, right? The ability to personalize cards for unusual situations!

The hand bell card is perfect, Ardyth. It's wonderfully personalized. It's great to be able to personalize a card for a special person or occasion. Did you cut a rubber stamp? If so, wow!!
ReplyDeleteGlad to see you solved your little problem, because the result is simply stunning, Ardyth. I'm sure your mom will love it.
ReplyDeleteIf you didn't want to use heat embosiing, you could of course have used masking and a stamp positioner LOL.
I love to hear how your creativity works Ardyth. Your mom is going to absolutely adore this card!

ReplyDeleteNot only are you THE Queen of stamping but we can now add Grand Slicer & Dicer to your title for your...um...brave 'slicing & dicing' of stamps! Well done!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea to use the two embossing colors - awesome job getting the image perfectly lined up! Another amazing Ardyth creation! You mom's bell pals are gonna be thrilled!
