Tuesday Trigger, Blog Friends and Apologies to FLW

I know. I said I was done with fall leaves, but a perfect storm of events put me temporarily back in the mood.

1) This week's Tuesday Trigger has those beautiful pink leaves (we have a few of them around our neighbourhood). Against the dark wood bowl and the lighter table, the colours really captured my imagination.

2) I received a package of this die cut from Joyce. When she made this card, I loved it so much, I went right to the Lil Inkers website to order it  but it was sold out (it's now back in stock, of course!). When I mentioned this to Joyce, she immediately (and very generously) cut a bunch of them in white (so I could colour them) and sent them to me in the mail. Thank you Joyce!

3) As I started to play with one of them, it reminded me of Frank Lloyd Wright's Trees of Life stained glass design:

This design was really my first introduction to FLW many, many years ago. Even then, I was attracted to graphic, geometric design. Since then I've been to Taliesin (Wisconsin), Taliesin West (Arizona) and Robie House (Chicago) - still a few to go!

  1. Oh, Ardyth, that FLW window is stunning ... as is your inspired card. The delicate shading on the pieced chevrons is just gorgeous ... and perfect against the kraft background. YUM! Anita :)

  9. Great design and use of color, Ardyth! A decade ago, when I was looking for a different home, I looked at a Frank Lloyd Wright inspired home that was in a neighboring city. It was built in 1916 and inspired by his Prairie designs. It was an amazing home. I was impressed at the "cubical" design. I didn't buy it because I didn't like the lot it was on and there weren't enough s.f. for my needs. The tour via a very informed agent, however, was very enlightening and interesting. :)
