This is for this week's Muse challenge. Laurie's beautiful card is so CAS, but still has a lot going on to provide a ton of inspiration!
I focused on the colours (green, black and white), the embossing (I used my trusty grosgrain ribbon embossing plate) and the circles with the black centres.
For the embossed strip, I tried to 'selectively' emboss the white strip, leaving a smooth surface for my sentiment, but in the end, I cheated, and ran it through my Cuttlebug twice, once with the plate on one end and then again with it on the other end, leaving the 'middle' free.
This card was actually pretty simple to create, but the photography took forever! My camera really wanted to over expose the white and then you couldn't see the embossing or the stickles (even now, it's not really clear!). Trust me when I say that it's prettier (and the green is fresher!) in real life.
LOVE your Muse inspired CAS card! I "feel" a case coming on! Hee! :)
ReplyDeleteOh that ribbon embossing is very cool. I've never scene that before. Love all the clean, crisp white!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card!
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteI love your CASE! Such a perfect balance of the greens and I love the large black center. Whoever said, "the camera doesn't lie" was not photographing cards!
ReplyDeleteLove the "grosgrain" strip and touch of stickles - once again, perfect details Ardyth!

ReplyDeleteI'll tell you what you told me, "That's not cheating." It's a great way to leave an unembossed space. I love the big flower.
ReplyDeleteStunning in its simplicity - I love it!
ReplyDeleteI just can't stop admiring ur card :) so clean and such a perfect take on the muse, wow
ReplyDeleteSo darn cool. What a perfect CAS take on Laurie's card. Love what you've done with the center of your flower! And even before I read the rest of your post, I recognized the grosgrain die immediately. You've made something so beautiful. I love this. It's already pinned! Bev
ReplyDeleteLove your creative take on Laurie's card...such a beautiful color palette, too!

Wow, that flower just pops. Am always amazed at the gorgeousness you produce.
ReplyDeleteLove your take on this week's Muse challenge, just fabulous.
ReplyDeleteHuh, I don't think it occurred to me to emboss on each side, vs trying to leave a space in the middle. Brilliant!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful interpretation, love the flower :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely card! So clean, simple and elegant!
ReplyDeleteThis is just beautiful! I know you asked for no votes because you are on the DT, but I totally would have voted for you if under different circumstances.
