Glam Glimmer Birthday!

A quick post for today, the final day of school for my kids. I really loved this card when I made it, but when I went back to it, I found that the white layer was not sticking to the silver glitter paper. Any advice? I love the way the colours overlap and I love the sparkle, but obviously, a card that comes out of the envelope in 2 pieces is not the goal!

1. SOLD, SOLD, sold, must have the Tall letters. FAB job on this, (as always)...have a great day Ardyth!

2. If you can get the silver paper off without ruining everthing, cut out the middle with a knife, so you've just got a thick frame. Sitck the white to the black. No one will know it's not a whole sheet - I won't tell if you won't!
Alternatively, Julie Ebersole made a faux mat 'frame' recently (last few weeks?)by mitring the ends of strips & sticking them down araound the edge. Good Luck. Jenny

3. Love those bright overlapping letters. Try scraping some glitter off where you want to stick the top layer and use a really strong wet glue.

4. I am always in awe how you use so many colors and they always turn out so pretty and fun. This card is no exception. You might try Glossy Accents from Ranger to get your card to stick to the silver paper. It is pretty strong stuff. I use it to adhere metal embellishments.

5. I find glitter paper is tricky - my go-to Zip Dry will discolour glitter paper, so I generally use Tombow Mono-Multi or strips of foam tape. Scor-Tape doesn't seem to work for me in these kind of situations.
That said, I totally love the layering of the inks :)

6. I adore this card! I love how you've squished the letters together and overlapped! Such bright and happy colours, too! As for adhering - when I have things that don't want to stick together I use either sticky strip (Stampin' Up!), or Crystal Effects/Glossy Accents, or a clear Craft Glue that I have which is like super glue.

7. A beautiful card!
Would/could using scor-tape to form a frame and then sprinkling with glitter work?

8. LOVE the overlapping stamping! I use glue dots when things aren't sticking.

10. LOVE LOVE LOVE this card! Those letters are a "must have" for me now! :)
I just made a similar card like this (in that I mounted a white piece of cardstock to silver glitter background). I have had lots of luck using Glue Dots and those Zots things.

11. LOVE those chunky letters overlapping. I don't know how you make cardstock stick to glitter??? Good question!

12. This is a beautiful card. thx for sharing. I use glue dots for hard to stick papers.

13. I love this card.

How about using the super sticky red type? Something like this: http://www.craftsuperstore.co.uk/Papercrafting/Glues__and_amp__Adhesives/Tape/Stix2-S57091.html

I've found it to be really good and extremley sticky- once that sticks it's not coming off!

Hope that helps. :)

14. I really don't know how you get your stamping so perfect. Each letter is overlapped perfectly and they come out right at the end. It's beautiful.

15. My go-to glue for problems like glitter paper is here here
It's inexpensive and available at hobby or craft shops. I use a skewer to take a small clump from the tube and spread it in a thin line near the edge of the paper. It's VERY thick and adheres quickly.

Good luck,
Bahb

16. Anyone have a link where I can learn how to PROPERLY leave a URL like the above Walmart one?
Thanks,

18. Amazing overlapping stamping, Ardyth ... love how each letter has three different colours as a result (ok, two for the ones at each end!) For sticking, I've tried a couple of things ... Jenny's suggestion of making a frame of the glitter paper ... and using a craft knife or scissors to shave off some of the glitter to allow the adhesive to stick to the paper/card... both have worked well (although the shaved glitter tends to fly everywhere!). 19. GREAT stamping Ardyth! Love those overlaps... You may not like this idea as it would slightly change the look of your card, but it does work: cut some slits - straight or curvy - into the corners and tuck your top piece into them. There are punches available to do the trick or use a razor. Tape ends on the back where there is no interference from the glitter.

20. You're overlapping letters are brilliant. I'm always looking for the right stamp to fit the space. This is a great reminder that you can just make it fit, to great effect. The mixed colours turned out beautifully.

I would think scor tape, sticky strip, or glue dots would probably work, but I like Jenny's suggestion to cut the middle out. I often do that anyway, even when it;s not glitter paper. I hate to waste paper, especially DP! You never know when that leftover piece out of the middle will inspire the next card.

21. I would think that any good adhesive that could be used to hold glitter to cardstock would hold your cardstock to the glitter, but who knows? LOL! Several people have mentioned Glossy Accents (or an equivalent). That should do it too, since it seems to hold everything, but I don't think I've ever glued cardstock to glitter paper, so I don't have a method that I've actually tried! :)

Beautiful card... I love those big letters. I must go back and read your post again. I don't remember you saying what brand of stamps they are... so if you didn't, could you tell me the name of the stamp set and the company that makes them?

22. OK... re-read and found the name of the stamp set!!! Thanks!!!!!

24. This is just so festive! Love how your letters overlap and the size of them too, so bold and so fun.

25. I think I have some large tall letters in my stash, I'll have to see if I can find them. I adore the bright colors overlapping!

26. Nice card! Love the colored letters and the glitter layer. I have been using 1/2" Scor-Tape to adhere layers to my glitter papers. I remember some time ago, I used an emery board to rough up the glitter so that my layer of cardstock would stick to it. I remember using Tombow Mono glue to adhere it. Good luck. Maybe you could share what ended up working w/us? :)

27. Catching up on blogs & just have to say this is one of my all time favorite CAS cards - love the large letters & bright colors! Agree with others that are suggesting wet adhesive for sticking something to glitter, but love the idea of cutting a frame and saving the middle of the glitter paper for another project!
