Happy Birthday Kate!

Oh, look what I made for my daughter Kate, who is turning 11 today! I'm so excited!

I followed this tutorial I found on Pinterest - SO EASY but what a wow factor! Clean and Simple it is not, but hey, at 11, it's all about glitz and glam!

I used my new Papertrey star die, the building blocks die to make the 11 and one of their alphabets for the letters. The balloons are a Paper Smooches die. Lawnfawn DP and a Stampin' Up sentiment.

I changed the dimensions a bit, so that the box is shorter than the one in the video (4.25x4.25 rather than 4.25x5.5). It folds down and fits into a standard envelope:

  15. SUPER cool card, Ardyth! Thx for sharing the link to the instructions. I have a card to make for my cousin who is turning 15 on the 17th of March. I am hoping to use shamrocks, balloons and a leprechaun. Can't wait to make it. :)

  16. I must watch that tutorial. Your birthday box is so fun and fabulous. Absolutely perfect for an 11 year old, although I have some older girls who would also love something like this. And, how fun that you could use some new goodies, too.

  18. I was scrolling through the rest of your blog, because I absolutely can't miss a post, and I had to stop and comment on this one. Wow! I never, ever, thought I would see an explosion box on your blog!! I am so impressed at how you still kept it nice and clean though. My friend made one of these for a card exchange and I couldn't stop playing with it. Yours is definitely my favorite version I've seen!! What a great mom you are to make such a fun card for Kate : )
