Colouring Fun
Yesterday, I registered for Kathy Racoosin's 30 Day Coloring Challenge Road Trip - she's coming to Ontario in September and I can't wait! I am hoping that a few of my friends will also be able to come, and it's always fun to meet new people who have similar interests.
I was so excited, I had to start colouring right away! lol! I recently got this adorable pirate set from MFT and was happy to pull it out and get it inky!
I created my background using the Copic-bokeh technique that Michelle Short used (and I copied shamelessly) last week. I think it will be a long time before I get tired of this technique - I love the look!
I cut out the heart and then from the remainder of the panel, I cut a pierced rectangle. The whole thing is very simply mounted on a white card base.

AJVD, MCV82 - Christmas in July
I'm on the A Jillian Vance Design Blog today with this watercoloured card. Pop over for a photo tutorial and more details!
Since I was inspired by our Guest Muse Jessica at Muse: ChristmasVisions - specifically by her red, blue, gold and white colour scheme, I'll also link up there.

CTS229 - Happy Birthday
Today is Kevin Bray's birthday and this card is on its way to him. I used the inspiration from this week's CAS(E) This Sketch.
Lately, Kevin has been making cardmaking videos with his girlfriend Cheryl. They are fun to watch and give a great opportunity to get to know Kevin better. He is a very talented cardmaker and also a nice guy who has nice friends.
I went ultra clean and simple for this masculine take on the sketch. The stripes on one side of the cardbase are a special touch that Kevin used on one of my favourites of his cards.
Happy Birthday, Kevin! Hope you have a fabulous day!

FS544 - Happy Birthday
Congratulations to this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper, Ann Greenspan (aka yaleann7).
I chose this card from her gallery as my inspiration:
I focused on Ann's:
-floral theme
-three 'scribble' roses
-black sentiment
-circle elements
I changed:
-technique
-no black stripes
I die cut the flowers and leaves to create masks and then blended distress inks with a sponge dauber (smaller than an ink blender and gives a bit more control). I spritzed with water for some texture and then cut a circle out of the panel. I inlaid the 'happy' into the circle and then popped the circle up from the panel, where I had stamped the rest of my sentiment.

Fusion - Happy Birthday to You
It's been a while since I played with Fusion, but I couldn't resist this week's colourful inspiration photo, especially since my new Distress Oxide Inks are now in the house!
