LIMES: Ornamental Joy!

Welcome to this week's LIMES inspiration post!

I chose this card as my inspiration from the gallery of this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper, SuZ!

LIST: Colours (pink, white, green, yellow), Techniques (embossing, die cutting, alcohol inks) Elements (white background with circular ornament hung from a ribbon bow, dear, tree, snowflake, green frame, no sentiment)

INCLUDE: colours, embossing, die cutting, vertical 'hanging' element, snowflake

MODIFY: ornament is a word die cut, circle included as dotted embossing on the background, reversed colours (background is coloured, then white shadow), then coloured word. Gel press instead of alcohol inks. Embossed the colourful background,

EXCLUDE: deer, tree, ribbon, green frame

I was attracted by the pretty, artsy colours on SuZ's ornament. But I reversed things. instead of white, colourful, white layers, I did colourful, white, colourful. I made my "ornament" a word die cut instead of a circle. I left out the deer and the tree. In fact, the two cards don't look a lot alike, except for the colours, and that just shows how strong colour is as a link between an inspiration piece and the result.
