Cardinal Christmas

Congratulations to this week's Featured Stamper, Gayle (gaylestamps).

I chose this card as my inspiration:

LIST: Christmas, colourful bird, monochrome-ish circular tree, popped up elements, pears, 

INCLUDE: bird, foliage

MODIFY: 'close-up' view, circular frame around bird, popped up sentiment

EXCLUDE: no popped up fruit, no white space (gasp!), 

SPIN: shimmer spray

I decided to take a 'closer look' at the scene, and zoomed right in to the bird surrounded by leaves. I started by stamping my EBE cardinal from Backyard Bird Friends and then masking him. I stamped Mondo Holly all around him.

I put the mask back on the bird and then I blended Twilight and Black Jack ink around the edges, lightening my pressure as I got to the centre.

I removed the mask and coloured the cardinal, and added shading to the holly and berries.

I spritzed the panel with Avery Elle Clear Shimmer Spray.
