MCV108 - Season's Greetings

Here's my card for the current Muse: ChristmasVisions challenge where Kimberly gave us this inspiration:

I focused on Kimberly's:
-row of artistic trees
-layout
-colourful mat

I had a previously-made alcohol ink panel that had a distinctly Christmas feel to it - it ranged from yellow to orange to pink to red to green.

I pulled that out and decided to try the Alcohol Lift ink. I stamped the row of trees onto the panel and then wiped the panel with a dry cloth. It definitely worked, but I was hoping that the outline would be whiter, so I stamped it again (I had it on my MISTI, so re-stamping was very easy). It did lift a bit more ink but still wasn't as white as I had hoped. (Since I made this card, I've been advised that the Alcohol Lift ink works best with a 'fresh' alcohol ink background - I haven't had a chance to test that yet!)

I used the matching die to cut it out and popped it up on the white panel, where I had previously stamped the sentiment.

I created a border from the alcohol ink panel (don't worry, I cut out the centre so there's not much actually on the card, and I still have plenty of my pretty panel to use for future projects! lol!).

I popped the trees up on the panel with foam tape and then I got out my white gel pen and went over the lines, and added snow. Given the slick surface of the Yupo paper, I wasn't 100% sure the gel pen would dry, but it did!

  1. What a wonderful make Ardyth - love the colours in your trees, and the fact that you were able to successfully use the white gel pen on them.
