FS578 - Fortune-ate!

Congratulations to this week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper, Bronwyn (aka BronJ). I chose this card as my inspiration:

I focused on Bronwyn's:
-different fold
-use of one colour plus metallic

I changed:
-type of fold
-colours

I used some of the latest products available later today at Ellen Hutson. These stamps and dies have an Asian feel and were inspired by Julie's recent travels to Japan. Just wait until you see how fun they are - the Design Team has all sorts of inspiration for you!

I started by die cutting the fortune cookies and blended distress ink on them in different shades of browns to create some dimension.

I stamped and embossed a lantern and then blended red inks to create an ombre background. I trimmed it down and cut 2 pieces from it to fit the front portions of my card.

My card is my normal square 4.25x8.5 cardbase, scored at 2.5 and 6.75 so that there are two flaps that meet at the front of the card. It's slightly asymetrical but there's a reason! Because of the orientation of the cookies, I couldn't really put one on each side, so I had my panels 'meet' slightly off-centre to give space for both cookies on the left side.

I stamped the 'fortunes' and carefully adhered the cookies so that you can slide the fortunes in and out.

I also stamped a sentiment on the inside of the card.

Here's a video:
