I made this card for the current Essentials by Ellen Mix it Up Challenge with MFT Stamps.
When I made this card a while ago, I tried to include the Baker lady but I noticed that she was a bit bigger than the other two Leading Ladies (Photo and Cozy).
Let's stop there. I think these ladies need names. Baker Betty, Photo Phoebe and Cozy Cathy.
Anway, I knew that Betty would work better in a scene where she was in front of the others and I made a note to come back and make this fun birthday card.
I started by creating masks. One for Betty and her cake and several for each of Cathy and Phoebe.
To make Betty stand out, I stamped her and her cake in black before masking her. I then stamped a whole crowd of Phoebe and Cathy in grey, which makes them look like they are in the background. When I removed all the masks, I coloured Betty boldly with Copics, and gave the crowd a light dusting of colour, just on their faces.
I finished by masking the balloons and the top ladies before blending some Peacock Feathers distress ink on the top of the panel.

ReplyDeleteFabulous card... you're right and all about the scale. But more importantly, hallelujah for the Betty, Cathy, and Phoebe instead of Baker, Cozy, and Photo! What were they thinking?!? So much better now! Thank you!!!
