FS525 - Christmas Joy

This week's Splitcoaststampers' Featured Stamper is Karen (aka Redbugdriver). I actually chose two inspiration cards from her gallery. Here's the first:

I focused on Karen's:
-Joy theme on a slant
-red, green and gold colours

I changed:
-shape of the card

I cut the starburst out of a white panel and then partially cut it several times, using different colours of red, pink, gold, green and turquoise glitter cardstock to create the dots. I then inlaid the different colours in a random order.

I used:
-Memory Box Starburst Die
-Essentials By Ellen Holiday Words die
-Essentials by Ellen Scribble Christmas

Here's the inspiration for my second card:

I focused on:
-3 pieces of winter greenery
-Joy sentiment
-red, white and black

I changed:
-left out green
-didn't separate the 3 images in separate panels

I used:
-Essentials by Ellen Scribble Christmas
-Essentials by Ellen Holiday Word die

  1. Wow, wish I could make cards like you do! Jo x

  2. Great, glittery "Joy" card, Ardyth. Those little dots make this really fun. This looks like it was a bit time consuming, but so well worth it! Absolutely love your second card. Those pine boughs in black are so elegant. This looks like a good one for mass production, too. Gorgeous cards. Bev

  3. Both of these are simply GORGEOUS, Ardyth!!! WOW, them!!!! Wonderfully done!!!
    Have a great day!!!!!

  4. Oh Ardyth the top card is stunning - love how you used the die cut(s)! The second is a great use of the inspirational card.

  5. Two beauties! The inlaid polkie dots (love all the colors) are amazing...and must have taken a year of Mondays to complete!!! Gorgeous bold JOY!

2nd, white with a bold pop of cool and so effective!

  6. Love both cards! Wow - you inlaid all those beautiful dots...super technique.

  7. Two fabulous and beautiful cards that first one, stunning!

  8. Love these! I have a starburst die very similar to the one you used on the first always inspire! ❤

  9. Saw the first one and thought, wow!! Then I saw the second...swoon!!
