Muse 168 - Happy Birthday

Here is my card for this week's Muse Challenge, where we are lucky to have Leigh Penner as our Guest, with this fun card as inspiration:

Mine has a more feminine feel and different colours, but you'll be surprised by how many elements are taken directly from Leigh's fantastic design!

I focused on Leigh's
-use of a frame
-'striped' panel on a neutral card
-sentiment made up of a big happy and smaller words
-olive on top

One of the benefits of choosing classic supplies from whichever company makes them, is that they generally play very well together - check out how many companies are represented here:

I used:
-WPlus9 Happy die (stacked 3 times to provide definition against the white frame)
-Essentials by Ellen Totally Awesome
-MFT Birthday Wishes and Balloons (string stamp)
-Avery Elle Balloon die (retired)
-Avery Elle Double Pierced Square dies to create my frame
-unknown patterned paper
-Elizabeth Crafts Mylar Shimmer Sheetz

  1. Love that shiny balloon!

  2. Love those happy stripes and your shiny balloon "olive"! :D

  3. Fabulous feminine take on Leigh's card!

  4. Hey look, you still have patterned paper! ;) What a great way to remake Leigh's card in your own style.

  5. Great take on the inspiration! I love the happy colors. The stacked word die is a super design element.

  6. Love the shimmery balloon very fun card!

  7. Cute card! Appropriate considering word has it i missed your birthday! Happy Late

  8. Another wonderful case Ardyth - love how you have taken the elements and translated them into your own style.

  9. Oh, this is so pretty and fun, Ardyth! I love how you were inspired by my card!

  10. Yep...these stamps are definitely playing nice together! Love how you were inspired by Leigh's card. The bright colors and shimmery balloon definitely create a 'happy' feeling!
