This week's CASology Cue Card is Sunshine!
This Neat & Tangled die arrived at my house late this week and this idea came to me and wouldn't leave me alone! I finally replaced my original sunshine DT card (see below). I feel like due to the size of the sun, there's more white space, making this more CAS. The sun was die cut from an old watercolour panel I had created earlier - it has just a bit of colour variation and I lightly added some Stickles for just a bit of sparkle.
Once I had my sun made, I went searching for a sunshiny sentiment. I do have all my stamps on Evernote, which is fantastic if you know what you're looking for, because you can type in your key word and search it. But sometimes, nothing takes the place of just manually searching through all your stamps. I found this punny sentiment in the H's - Hero Arts to be exact, so it didn't take too long. I love the relationship between the sun and the day.
I used:
-Neat & Tangled Stitched Sunburst die
-MFT Circle Die
-Hero Arts Sentiment
-KGT
-Diamond Stickles
Now, before you go, here is the randomly-chosen winner from last week's 200th Challenge - Geri from Manitoba Stamper!
Wow - Congrats on the 200th challenge...that's a whole lot of cards!!!I
Absolutely love your card! Adding the color to the smaller element (the pink hello) totally makes it the focal point, with the gorgeous flower stamp playing a lovely supporting role!

Love this! Brilliant rays of sun.
ReplyDeleteThey're both fabulous but I really love the colours of the sun on the first card. :)

ReplyDeleteLove both cards but agree with you that more white space definitely creates a cleaner look.
Thanks again pal!
Two fabulous cards love them both x
ReplyDeleteLove both of them, Ardyth. Although that N & T die is pretty unique.
ReplyDeleteI love both cards, Ardyth! I especially love the Hero Arts sentiment you chose...literal and figurative, very clever!
ReplyDeleteGreat cards - they make me smile.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous card - love your use of the die Ardyth, and that gorgeous sun, never mind the punny sentiment :-)
ReplyDeleteBlessings

ReplyDeleteI love both of these cards, Ardyth! You are such a brilliant designer!
ReplyDeleteThey're both so striking and gorgeous, Ardyth ... the first, with the dimensional looking sun, cool rays and all that glorious white space is especially fresh and delicious! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteHey Ardyth!! I love your card. I ordered that stitched die and can't wait to play with it. It is just right for this cue card. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE them both Ardyth. It is not easy to make a traditional CAS card and have it look awesome. You do it every time! I love the stitch lines with your cirle. The first with the sinshine cut out, I love!
