This week's CASology Cue Card is Move!
Not too long ago my son was accepted for a 7 week pilot course offered during the summer by the Air Cadets. So I'm a proud (and slightly nervous!) mama! He did gliding a couple of years ago and will soon take his driving exam - this kid is going to be well-licensed! lol!
CAS design works well for masculine cards. For this masculine card, I used a number of CAS principles: limited colours, limited layers, lots of white space, no embellishments, straight lines. But I cut out a jet-stream and let the plane fly off the card to add interest. No need to be boring!
I used Waltzingmouse Free Spirit and Avery Elle Fly By.
And now it's your turn - let's see how you move! Be sure to drop by the rest of the DT for more inspiration:

Love your fabulous card! Your son sounds like an amazing young man. Congrats to you both!
ReplyDeleteLove the way the plane is zipping off the card and leaving the trail behind. Congratulations to your son, what a fabulous achievement to have been selected, great opportunity X
ReplyDeleteBrilliant! Jo x

ReplyDeleteSo happy for Struan and your card is 100% perfect for him!
ReplyDeleteWith all that's going on around here, I'm once again late in commenting dear friend. I did take a quick peek yesterday but had no time to tell you what a wonder this card is! This might sound weird, but I love and consider grays as some of my most favorite colors, so this one is right up my alley. Sweet little biplane, and I love its 'vapor trail.' Congrats to Struan too, on his acceptance in the pilot course. He must have a permanent grin etched on his face! Good for him!!! Maybe someday he can fly you over for a visit!! Now that would be awesome!! Have a great week my friend. Miss you. Bev
ReplyDeleteFly'n By to say sweet card! Love how you split the panel to create the 'flight path'.
ReplyDeleteA bit CONGRATS to Struan! He is definitely a focused young fellow and you deserve to be a proud maman!
Simply fabulous Ardyth! Congrats to your son and thinking of you xoxo.
ReplyDeleteLove the way you did this card--it looks like the airplane has split the page and is off onto a great adventure. Congratulations to your son.
ReplyDeleteThis is just perfect!!I love the way you achieved the movement of your plane both in the jet stream and the way it is headed right off the card!!
ReplyDeleteBravo to your son! You are a blessed Mom

Cool and fun at the same time, Ardyth ... what a fabulous idea to split the panel for the vapour trail ... always love to read why your designs work so brilliantly! Many congratulations to Struan ... so exciting ... what an adventure ... a proud Mom indeed! Hugs & bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI almost used this plane for my card but now I'm glad I didn't because this is SO much better than my idea! Love the shading on the plane and the "jet stream" is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteClever, clever! Great neutral colors, fun movement!
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine my son flying -- he just got his driver's license and that is nerve-wracking enough!
Super clever! Can appreciate you being nervous! He sounds pretty capable though! I look forward to hearing how he gets on! Driving will be such a bore in comparison!
ReplyDeleteClever! Love it!
