Happy (UK) Mother's Day

I just had a near-heart attack when I Googled UK Mother's Day for this year. It's on SUNDAY.

Let me back up. My mother-in-law lives in Scotland. The UK, in its wisdom, does not celebrate Mother's Day when we do (their Father's day is the same as ours, though). Not only that, the UK MOVES Mother's Day (Mothering Sunday) every year (like Easter). I'm sure this is a conspiracy to make those of us who are non-British daughters-in-law living outside the UK look bad. And I manage to, almost every year. Especially when it's so early in March! lol!

At least the card doesn't look bad, despite its very quick construction! Fresh and springy.

I used:
-WPlus9 Doodle Buds
-Simon Says Stamp Best Mom Ever

And now I'm going to put an early-early warning into my 2017 calendar. ;-)

  1. Oh my goodness! How bright, cheerful and funky! I absolutely love this and I know your mom will, too! I'm glad you didn't have a heart attack because then how would the blogosphere get it's fill of talent?

  2. I can SO relate! My Mothering Sunday card went out a week ago Wednesday, so I was actually on the ball this year. Now hopefully the postal service cooperated - we'll find out when my husband chats to his mum on Sunday. Love your card. I have this set, and you've found a lovely way to add color to it.

  3. Beautiful card for Mothering Sunday Ardyth. You are not the only one that will look bad as my Bristish Mother-in-law lives here in Canada and I get the date messed up every year! I love how you inked up the base and the flowers!

  4. I had to giggle Ardyth - we have a 'set' (commewrcial) Mothers day here, but it is in May... and I am familiar with Mothering Sunday, so can understand your panic when you discovered it was so close!!
Love your cheerful card - it is gorgeous

  8. Beautiful Mothers day card, love your background with these flowers. Bet she loves it, even if it is a weeee bit late. In Australia mothers day is always second weekend of May so some times its the day before mums birthday and then other times further apart but I always felt she was robbed a bit by being so close.
