On Thursdays and Fridays, CASology is featuring the DT's craft spaces.
I've done this a couple of times before (see the page 'Craft Room' at the top of my page) so I thought I'd just show you a few things I've changed since last time.
The photo above gives you a view of my main workspace. All through my crafting life, I have wanted all my supplies visible and within reach. I didn't want to forget that I had anything! I don't know why, but lately I've been feeling claustrophobic and have been working to get stuff either put away or sold.
The cubby that sits in front of me on my desk has my black inks, blocks, coloured inks, copics, scissors, glues - things that I reach for almost every time I make a card.
I have also taken my laptop off my desk - it takes up space and I find it distracting.
On my desk is now only one stack of small drawers - from top to bottom - masking supplies, stamp positioning, distress inks (see below) and pre-cut Gina K 120 lb square card bases. Next to that is an old paper organizer with un-cut Gina K cardstock. My MISTI and foam tape are to the right. The bin of stamps and dies on top of the paper organizer is all my Paper Smooches products - handy for my October Guest Designer posts!
The distress inks fit perfectly in this drawer and that makes it easy to take a long when we get together on our stamping days.
The other major change I've made is to move all my coloured cardstock (I know, it's embarrassing - I'm not buying any more for a long, long time!) under my desk. It gets it out of the direct light and frees up shelf space.
Love your space!
ReplyDeleteIMO, your craft space perfectly underlines the type of crafter you are: CAS
ReplyDeleteLove how your distress inks fit so perfectly in the drawers.
I love looking into other's crafty spaces - thanks for sharing Ardyth! I just LOVE all your card stock - I wish I owned that much. It is so pretty. (And I just smiled when I spied a somewhat familiar card on top of your craft shelf ;)
ReplyDeleteAwesome space....I removed my desktop from my desk for awhile...it is such a space hog but here it is back in my room again. Love all your cardstock.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your updated stamping room! I love it! It looks so clean and organized, just like your cards!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Ardyth ... though, one day, I'll get that invitation to come craft with you beauties, and see it for real!
ReplyDelete=]

Love your space, Ardyth! Can I ask where you got your desk? I am looking for a new one soon. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely craft room Ardyth, So clean and neat and well organised. Can I hire you to come do mine?! I particularly love the rainbow of cardstock under the desk, it's beautiful xx
ReplyDeleteFantastic crafting space, Ardyth. Now that I see it, I realize it is exactly what I would expect from you. I am cracking up at all your colored card stock. I don't think I've ever seen you use it.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your crafting space! Organizing and pairing down is a constant process, and you've streamlined so well!
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of your style of cards, clean and colorful.
ReplyDeleteI've always felt a kinship with you when it comes to loving things well organized and efficient and this update just thrills me no end, Ardy! I really love the curve on that desk, too!! I'm not sure if you've had it forever and I say the same thing every time, or I just noticed it for the first time. Maybe removing your laptop made it stand out for me? Anyway, love it! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteSo organized and thought-out! I'd like to be you when I grow up. ;)
ReplyDeleteNeat and tidy, just the way I like it!! Thanks for sharing with us Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteArdyth your craft space is amazing, I know I have been in it. I love the changes you have made and now I am nervous that I am not going to get mine done for my post--eek! Great organizing and Ii hear you about the claustrophobia, but there is none of that here. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI NEED that awesome colored cardstock stash!!!! Wonderful tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat and wonderfully organized craft space, Ardyth!!! ...and I thought I had a lot of coloured cs!!!
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love seeing your space. I'm with you...desk needs to be clear, but I have to have all my supplies within reach!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your last tour so much, Ardyth ... and it's lovely to see the updates you've done. Just my sort of space ... neat, organised, clutter free, inspiring ... just like your cards! A space to aspire to! Hugs & bisous, bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI've always admired your craft space, Ardyth! Everything looks so organized and that's something that appeals to me personally! I prefer my craft space somewhat efficient and yours looks like it's just that!!! Love how you have all the bright, cheerful colors of your supplies displayed! :)
ReplyDeleteYour tidy and organized space nearly sent me into cardiac arrest! The perfect space for all your creative energy to flow freely and create one amazing card after another!
ReplyDeleteI love your craft space...all that open white space, so perfectly CAS!!! :)
ReplyDeleteI love looking and getting ideas from other crafter's rooms. Yours is so neat and appears to be pared down from your original set up, Ardyth. I'm always arranging and rearranging, too.
ReplyDeleteWow, there are definite similarities in the way you and I have arranged our craft things, which you will see next week. I also like the things that I am working with to be in easy reach, and opt for drawers instead of caddies. Unfortunately I can't move my computer monitors, as my craft desk doubles as my work desk. This has been such an interesting journey through everyone's craft spaces. I have absolutely loved it!
ReplyDeleteHave just scrolled through all your old craft room posts. I swear I spend as much time reorganizing my space as I do using it. :) I love the big window in your room and also the clever use of the cutlery drawer organizers - they're perfect!
ReplyDeleteThat looks exactly like my paper stash, except that mine is in a cabinet. I like to keep everything where I can see it, except the paper so it doesn't fade, and the older wood stamp sets that I rarely use.
ReplyDeleteHello Ardyth: I apologize for the lateness of this comment, time just ran away from me.
ReplyDeleteYour crafting space is beautiful as well as functional, I specially like the way you store your colored card stock, and your work table has all the essentials close at hand, you also get lots of natural light, which I think it's best for crafting.
Thank you for the tour, I love it.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.
