I can't believe that we're almost through May! I finally took some time to play along with the current One-Layer Simplicity challenge, which is hosted by Heather this month.
I pulled out one of my oldest stamps - this row of daisies by Unity Stamp Company. I will never give this stamp up (I should say stamps - I have it in a smaller size as well). I love the handrawn feel of these blossoms!
I stamped them and then masked them before sponging very some Tumbled Glass really lightly around them. I finished with a Dark Room Door sentiment. And then I coloured the daisies with Stardust Stickles. And the card warped. I left it to dry, hoping that it would settle back to flat, but it really didn't. This card will likely have to be cut down and attached to another card base.
So I made another card with the same supplies, but left the Stickles off this time. I changed the placement from vertical to horizontal and added some deeper blues to emphasize the contrast of the white daisies.
Anyway, you're almost out of time to play along with us at OLS this month (deadline is the end of the day on the 24th) - I hope we'll see you there!
These are just adorable Ardyth! I love those little daisys - they remind me of some impress stamps I have! :) Great CAS designs - once again.
ReplyDeleteLove them both!
ReplyDeleteAlways inspiring... thanks so much!
Two gorgeous cards Ardyth. Would love to come for a lesson on how you ink your cards...I always have harsh lines :(
ReplyDeleteVery pretty cards!
ReplyDeletei love a loosey goosey flower and this is fresh and lovely!!
ReplyDeleteToo bad the one warped but it's still lovely, as is the other one. I"d be hard pressed to pick between them.
ReplyDeleteI'm really loving this daisy stamp Ardyth and I love the card with the sparkly daisies, but when I saw the second card, I totally feel in love with it! Both are amazing, but card 2 is my favorite. Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteSo sweet, Ardyth. I love the blue, white and yellow colour scheme, it's such a happy one.
ReplyDeleteLove your cards, especially the sparkly one - too bad it didn't stay flat.
ReplyDeleteI think the daisies are lovely, and great design too. LOVE Simplicity.
ReplyDeleteI can understand you holding onto these daisies, Ardyth, they're just lovely! Both versions are gorgeous ... love that sparkle on the first (have you tried dry ironing it from the back?) ... and the masking and sponging on the second is beautiful! Bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteLove both of these cards ... the softness of the first, and the lovely blue on the second.
ReplyDeleteI`m so far behind on commenting...but the yard work is all done!!!
ReplyDeleteI would not be parting with this stamp either - love the hand doodled look! Beautiful blended backgrounds! BTW, did you try ironing the card?Curious to know if it worked.
Sweet, sweet thank you cards!
