Muse #115 - Thank you

This is my card for this week's Muse challenge, where our guest Muse is Chrissie Stokes. Chrissie has provided us an amazing inspiration card!

I focused on the red, gold and black colour scheme, the dragon fly (mine is from Impression Obsession) and the idea of using a 'technique' for the background. I chose polished stone. An oldie but a goodie! I used drops of Pink Passion and Yoyo Yellow and Delicata Gold reinkers on glossy cardstock. Then I smooshed it around a bit, using a cotton ball soaked in rubbing alcohol. Very easy, very pretty and shimmery in real life. The sentiment is a Hero Arts die inlaid into the polished stone panel.

I enjoyed making this so much that I made another with different proportions of the same colours. This time I used Ranger sprays in Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed along with a Delicata gold re-inker on glossy cardstock. The reinkers were more vibrant, but this is pretty too! The thank you sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.

I hope you'll get a chance to play along with us this week - the deadline is Monday morning at 8 am EDT. At that time you can vote for your 3 favourites until Tuesday morning at 8. Voting results will be posted on Tuesday at noon.

Also, don't forget to leave a comment on this post at Muse: ChristmasVisions before Saturday morning at 8 am. One lucky commenter will win a stocking stuffer! The winner will be announced Saturday at 9, along with our next DT Member (and another chance to win!)

  8. REALLY cool inking techniques! I honestly had forgotten all it! Love the gold & red. Gives the card an almost 'Asian' feel, especially with the dragonfly
