This is my card for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge. Here's the sketch:
I started by masking off a portion of the white panel and sponging it with 3 blue distress inks. I stamped the Simon Says Stamp birthday in navy blue to continue the ombre effect. I used two Papertrey dies (anyone have any good advice for getting those suckers out of the die once they're cut?) and finished with a pop of yellowy-orange, using a Doodlebug sparkly enamel dot.
Oh this is fabulous Ardyth. Love that bit of gorgeous color and love the white word die!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely DELIGHTFUL!! Love the flower design with this PTI die!
ReplyDeleteLove this Ardyth. The masked banner is perfection. Think you could enter this over as CAS-ual Fridays too.
ReplyDeleteOh my this is simply beautiful Ardyth...love the white happy against the ombre effect!x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card today, Ardyth...I love it. As for getting the paper out of the dies, a little piece of washi tape does the trick for me. Or, you can use the dryer sheet technique. (watch it on youtube) It works like a charm!
ReplyDeleteOh so gorgeous, Ardyth! My only trick, if one can call it that, is to use washi tape and use a little stick and pull action... thanks for playing cards this week with us at CTS!

This is CAS perfection, Ardyth. So beautiful. I use dryer sheets to get all the pieces out of my dies. Works great for me.
ReplyDeleteI was going to email PTI and suggest that they need to put a little hole in each die. I just ruined a whole lot of little flowers trying to get them out.
ReplyDeleteYour card is beautiful.
Love this - and the sponging for the tag is gorgeous and a great idea. It's a "happy" card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeously simple card!
ReplyDeleteI've also had luck by putting a piece of wax paper between my dies and the paper I'm cutting. But you're right, PTI NEEDS to add those tiny little holes. ;)
Such a delightful card & I love your take on the sketch too!

I put a piece of waxed paper (from the kitchen) between the die and the paper. It usually falls right out. Still trying to find something cool to do with the waxed paper piece!😀
ReplyDeleteSo so COOL!!
ReplyDeleteAwesome card! Love how you continued the ombre shading into the sentiment! Beautifully blended panel!
ReplyDeleteI don't own any PTI dies so was surprised to hear that there were no 'pop out' holes! Honestly, I LOVE poking out a diecut from the dies!
I love the way you used the sketch, this is so cute!!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so cute and fun! Great take on the sketch!
ReplyDeleteYour card is stunningly beautiful! Can't wait to try my own adaptation of your idea.
ReplyDeletethis is my perfect sort of card - just love it - so amazing , Has cheered me up on a rainy cold day in scotland - come back spring
ReplyDeleteWhite daisy, golden yellow sparkly centre, blue ombré sky ... simply perfect, Ardyth ... blissful! Bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining my Fresh as a Daisy challenge last week. This is just one of the sweetest cards!
ReplyDeleteThis week it's all about puppies, so come back and join me with your awesome creativity.

Congrats , gorgeously CLEAN!
ReplyDeleteI love how CAS this card is. The distress inks add enough of an impact in a small space that it is all you need. I agree, PTI has a few dies that could use the tiny holes. I've started to add my own!
ReplyDeleteAnother great card and thanks for sharing.
