I decided to combine this week's Merry Monday and CAS(E) This Sketch challenges.
This little Taylored Expressions tree die is one that I bought after this past Christmas. I love the quirky placement of the 'ornaments'. And I'm glad I thought of it - quite often, I see things at Christmas, buy them too late to use for that season and then completely forget that I have them!
I used my little polaroid frame die from Mama Elephant . To create the striped glitter background, I took a scrap of white cardstock and laid a 1/4" strip of double-sided tape on it before sprinkling it with GlitterRitz ultrafine glitter. Then I laid the next strip and sprinkled the next colour until I had 7 strips of glittery colour. I cut the frame again, and used only the glittered centre square in the white frame. I finished it with a little sentiment from Waffle Flower.
Love this Ardyth! So cute, crisp and full of sparkle. X

ReplyDeleteVery clever design of the glitter background Ardyth, the block letters and the quirky placement of the tree make the card pop, you've inspired me to make a try with a CAS Christmas card sweetie.

Love your glitter stripes! Awesome colors and soooooo pretty! Nice touch extending the cute tree branches beyond the frame and splitting the sentiment between the frame and card base. You are just so dang clever pal!
ReplyDeleteYou did an awesome job with the glitter, Ardyth! Love that little tree and how the glitter shows through it! I get you about forgetting. I have to leave things in a separate box. If it goes on the shelf, it gets lost. Thanks for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!
ReplyDeleteLove that your tree is white against the beautifully lined up glitter stripes that you made! I thought this was glitter tape, so crisp :). I also think the split sentiment is a great element on this design.
