MM149 - The Savior is Born
Here's my card for this week's Merry Monday challenge, monochromatic blue.
I'm excited about this one! Once again, I took my inspiration from this card by Diana. I love how she made her sponged areas look like ribbon.
I created arc masks in post-it paper and then sponged in Chipped Sapphire, Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. I finished with a CSS nativity and sentiment (too bad Saviour is spelled incorrectly for us here in Canada! lol!). Not sure where my star came from - I really wanted to cut out a MB star, but they're still on my wish list!
(PS, you'll love the irony of this - the top panel is popped up with 4 previous attempts of the masking, cut down to 3.5" squares)

ReplyDeleteThis is just stunning Ardyth! Your blending of the blues is done so beautifully and I just love the way you made it resemble a ribbon! Just out of curiosity, how do the Canadians spell Savior?
ReplyDeleteOops...just realized you had "Saviour" spelled out in your post...guess I need to read a little more carefully!
ReplyDeleteTotally beautiful Ardyth, Haven't been able to comment much lately but I had to for this one xx
ReplyDeleteOnly you could make a cool graphic nativity card!
ReplyDeleteEvery time you post a card, I have to sit back and sigh. This is just wonderful. If it doesn't sound too weird, can I just say that it has the look of God's grace coming down from heaven?. That's the best way I can articulate what feeling this card evokes. I. Love. This. True story. Also, missing you! Bev
ReplyDeleteObviously, practice makes perfect, Ardyth! Love that sponged arc and the sweet Nativity! Thanks for sharing this with us at Merry Monday!
