OLS8 - Shades of Summer (Daisy)
Susan's got a great challenge over at One-Layer Simplicity for this month. She's chosen a number of summery colour palettes and we can choose whichever one we like to play along!
I chose this one:
And I was inspired by the technique Lydia used to make these pretty flowers here.
I cut a daisy from an old Fiskars punch and used it as a mask. I sponged Broken China distress ink and then Salty Ocean around the centre before removing the mask and using a spong dauber in Mustard Seed and then Wild Honey around the edges of that. I finished it off with a Papertrey sentiment.
Very cool!!
ReplyDeleteLove the soft sponging Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteYour masking and sponging made a gorgeous image. Love the big sentiment also :)
ReplyDeleteThis is so pretty. Your masking and sponging give the card so much interest.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful those colours :) and super how you let them fade out! Such a great summercard! Hugs, Gerrina
ReplyDeleteThis is beautifully CAS but the flowers just makes that sentiment pop!x
ReplyDeleteWhat gorgeousness! I loved your inking. I have a similar punch and you have inspired me to use it.
ReplyDeleteI love this. Sorry I've been AWOL ... but first away on the most wonderful trip (Edinburgh for my daughter's graduation, then on to Italy!) and now I'm at the beach. Hope to get back to crafting next week.
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty card!! I love how you come up with new (to me anyway) ideas to use products I haven't used in a while.
ReplyDeleteSo bright and summery and pretty, Ardyth ... gorgeous soft sponging! Anita :)
