i {heart} papers GD Post 5/CTS 89 - You!
A quick, CAS post for this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, using some i {heart} paper products in a fun way.
Here's the sketch:
I wanted to create my rectangle using words. It could be tricky to line up all these words if you wanted them perfectly straight and centred. I think it's easiest just to make it look like it wasn't intended to be straight! Plus it adds some movement and fun!
I also tried a fun new mask/sponge technique that I saw on this card by Jasleen. I love that your eye sees the whole frame, even though there are only 4 little bits of it. The distressed look of the sponging matches the 'old fashioned' feel of the type-writer font, and the frame provides some grounding for the floating words.
Products used:
Winnie&Walter - The Big, the Bold & the Happy
Winnie&Walter - The BIg, the Bold & You
Paper Smooches - Sweet Hearts
Memento Ink - London Fog & Lilac Posies
Ultra Smooth Premium White Cardstock

Oh this is fabulous. Love the softly inked quarters.
ReplyDeletePS Got my haircut last night...all because of a pin you did on Pinterest :) Nothing like an impulse haircut!
Beautiful card, Ardyth! I completely love your sponged 'framed' look to convey that sentiment. Grey-pink colours complement each other perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that one of my cards inspired you in some way. :) thanks for the mention.
Love this design and the faded frame :)

ReplyDeleteSuch a fun card, Ardyth! I love the wonky words and those sponged edges, gorgeous effect!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous card Ardyth! I love that "frame", that is very cool looking and I love that you didn't make the words straight. I love the "movement" the words have by not being straight. Plus I can't make anything straight to save my life. lol Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis card is fabulous! I love the monotone gray with the pop of pink!
ReplyDeleteThis is so playful and downright fun, Ardyth ... the words look as though they're dancing in the frame of softly sponged corners! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love that technique, really adds interest to the card!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite color combos, Ardyth... very cute!
