Stamper's Dilemma
Look familiar? This is a straight-up CASE of this card by Dawn McVey
As soon as I saw it, I knew I didn't need to buy that new PTI Butterfly stamp set. I knew I could CASE it with my Hero Arts butterfly stamp. I made this card to prove to myself that all it takes is a little creativity to make something that has the same look and feel, using supplies already on hand.
But then I ordered it anyway! Oh, please tell me I'm not the only one! lol!

What a fabulous CASE! it's a good thing (sometimes) that I live in Greece and not in the US or I would be ordering even more additional supplies when I don't REALLY need them,,even if I think Imdo LOL.
ReplyDeleteI soooooo do this, after all if one is good then 2, 3 or even 5 is better!! Also, love the card and I have that Hero Arts stamp!!
ReplyDeleteGreat CASE! It's okay, you can have more than one butterfly set. :)
ReplyDelete...no, you're not alone! We've all been there, done that, and keep going back!
ReplyDeleteABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The colors are amazing together! Love the sentiment placement. #1 on my 'Fav Ardyth Cards' list!
No you are not the only one. I do the exact same thing. I can recreate it without buying, then I need to compare!
ReplyDeleteI agree with June - you can totally have more than one butterfly set! ;) I couldn't help but order this one myself and I love it.
ReplyDeleteOf course it was perfect. I too have that stamp and thought the same BUT it must be remembered we can never, and I mean never, have eough butterfly stamps. Totally justified.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous CASE, Cathy x
ReplyDeleteThis is a fabulous card, and looks even better than the original because of the 'patented' Ardyth-Square. I am confessing that I totally do what you just did all the time. Not just with butterflies, but flowers, cupcakes, sentiments, etc. etc. One month, I went so far as to not order PTI on the 15th, cased a bunch of the DT cards using supplies I already had, and still went ahead and ordered anyway. So, yes--we all do it.
ReplyDeleteYou are SO NOT the only one who does this, Ardyth. You had me chuckling out loud. Sometimes a crafter just has to have what a crafter has to have! Your card is a lovely CASE. Such pretty colors too. And as many HB sets as I have, I just got my PTI order with about, oh, 4 sets of birthday sentiments...LOL! Bev
ReplyDeleteHahaha! I know what you mean! Your CASE is wonderful...I love those bright happy colours and butterflies are my favourite!
ReplyDeleteLOL, you are far from alone. I've done that many time. Your take on Dawn's card is beautiful. I love the colors.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card, Ardyth - and not a full-on copy because it's infused with your style and flair. As for 'having but ordering anyway' - oh yeah, I do that often, evidenced by the number of butterflies I have in my collection! Carpenters and electricians need their tools, and we need ours...that's my line and I'm sticking with it!

Too funny! :) Fabulous CASE using what you had
ReplyDeleteHasn't everyone done it? Terrific card!
ReplyDeleteYou are definitely not the only one, Ardyth! In fact I think I am the only one who has NOT ordered it as I see this butterfly all over Blogland! Your card is absolutely gorgeous! Have a great weekend! Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteLOL! You are definitely not alone! What a wonderful CASE of Dawn's card!
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Great case!
ReplyDeleteHahaha ... yep, been there, done that, Ardyth ... not with butterflies though ... I'm not sure I even possess a butterfly stamp (did I just admit that?)! Stunning CASE! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful case, Ardyth! I do love that your card is square. I can understand your CASE and purchase everything anyway plan :)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card Ardyth - I love the beautiful colours and simple yet effective design:) One more butterfly stamp won't hurt either LOL - hugs xx
ReplyDeleteFab CASE... And a fun post. :) xxx
ReplyDeleteTOTALLY Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteI doubt there's a single carmaker out there that NEEDS more butterfly stamps (or flower stamps for that matter) but sometimes the need must be appeased!
ReplyDeleteFabulous CASE by the way!
Made me laugh Ardyth! Gorgeous case but yes, I can see why you wanted the PTI one too! lol
ReplyDeleteThis totally looks familiar! And I totally orderd that set, too. Now I just need to carve out some time to use it. Probably too girly for Fathers' Day!
