Stamper's Dilemma

Look familiar? This is a straight-up CASE of this card by Dawn McVey

As soon as I saw it, I knew I didn't need to buy that new PTI Butterfly stamp set. I knew I could CASE it with my Hero Arts butterfly stamp. I made this card to prove to myself that all it takes is a little creativity to make something that has the same look and feel, using supplies already on hand.

But then I ordered it anyway! Oh, please tell me I'm not the only one! lol!

  1. What a fabulous CASE! it's a good thing (sometimes) that I live in Greece and not in the US or I would be ordering even more additional supplies when I don't REALLY need them,,even if I think Imdo LOL.

  2. I soooooo do this, after all if one is good then 2, 3 or even 5 is better!! Also, love the card and I have that Hero Arts stamp!!

  3. Great CASE! It's okay, you can have more than one butterfly set. :)

  4. ...no, you're not alone! We've all been there, done that, and keep going back!

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! The colors are amazing together! Love the sentiment placement. #1 on my 'Fav Ardyth Cards' list!

  5. No you are not the only one. I do the exact same thing. I can recreate it without buying, then I need to compare!

  7. Of course it was perfect. I too have that stamp and thought the same BUT it must be remembered we can never, and I mean never, have eough butterfly stamps. Totally justified.

  8. This is a fabulous card, and looks even better than the original because of the 'patented' Ardyth-Square. I am confessing that I totally do what you just did all the time. Not just with butterflies, but flowers, cupcakes, sentiments, etc. etc. One month, I went so far as to not order PTI on the 15th, cased a bunch of the DT cards using supplies I already had, and still went ahead and ordered anyway. So, yes--we all do it.

  9. You are SO NOT the only one who does this, Ardyth. You had me chuckling out loud. Sometimes a crafter just has to have what a crafter has to have! Your card is a lovely CASE. Such pretty colors too. And as many HB sets as I have, I just got my PTI order with about, oh, 4 sets of birthday sentiments...LOL! Bev

  11. LOL, you are far from alone. I've done that many time. Your take on Dawn's card is beautiful. I love the colors.

  12. What a beautiful card, Ardyth - and not a full-on copy because it's infused with your style and flair. As for 'having but ordering anyway' - oh yeah, I do that often, evidenced by the number of butterflies I have in my collection! Carpenters and electricians need their tools, and we need ours...that's my line and I'm sticking with it!

  22. I doubt there's a single carmaker out there that NEEDS more butterfly stamps (or flower stamps for that matter) but sometimes the need must be appeased!
    Fabulous CASE by the way!
