The Card Concept Challenge 7 - Butterfly
This time, The Card Concept Challenge is to use a butterfly theme.
I love the retro feel of the font of this Ink Essentials sentiment. There's just something cheerful about it. (am I the only one who gets feelings from fonts? I'm fascinated with type and its ability to reinforce the message of the words it represents, but that's a whole other story).
I paired my perky sentiment with a DeNami butterfly that had a similar feel - swoopy and happy. I coloured it with copics and then filled it in with stickles for sparkle.
When you have so much white space, I find that high contrast and bling or sparkle in your small focal points really helps to add interest.
I hope you'll get butterflies and play along!
Don't forget the rules!
Use the Challenge to create a card.
Choose one of the design team "styles" to create your card. Click HERE for the different styles summary.
Explain in your post which style you used.
Link up your blog post here, not your whole blog.
Comment on the card ahead of you and behind you in the linky. Everyone loves comments!
This challenge will end on Monday, April 14 at 3:00 pm EDT.

CAS and love that butterfly. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteLove your whimsical butterfly and fun sentiment, Ardyth! I'm so happy to know that I'm not the only one who gets a feeling from different fonts :)
ReplyDeleteYep, fonts do that to me too, Ardyth ... and this one is a light hearted and happy looking one, perfect with the tiny vibrant butterfly! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI love fonts, too. This one is darling, and so is your card, Ardyth!

ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card. Love your little butterfly. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful, and I like your tip about bright colors and small images. I agree with you about fonts--I wish I knew more about it, but I definitely feel some fonts work better in certain situations.
ReplyDeleteWow...that butterfly really does sparkle! I know what you mean about fonts...they really do convey a feel, don't they?
ReplyDeleteI totally know what you mean about fonts. It's amazing how the shapes of the letters can convey so much feeling. And yes, the butterfly matches the font perfectly!
ReplyDeleteI agree that fonts can convey/evoke feelings. Yours is a nice match for the happy little butterfly.
