Happy Birthday, Mrs H!

Today is the birthday of one of my best, and oldest (she's not old, the friendship is!) friends - we date back to Grade 9, where we met in Music class (we both played violin). And she's also one of the most understanding of my friends: because I have not crafted in almost a week, this card was literally just finished 10 minutes ago, and has not yet been put in the mail.

I was inspired by this photo on Pinterest, that I'm sure you'll recognize:

graduation cap idea

We did do some looney things back in the day! But that's all over now. Right!

I cut 3 Soft Stone panels with circle nestabilities and stacked them on the white card base. I used MFT dies  in Avery Elle Raspberry for the sentiment and blinged up the dot on the i.

  2. Another amazing interpretation! Cool design that reminded me of the little 45rpm records that we had (you're likely too young to remember the the little plastic "S" shpaed piece that needed to be popped into the centre of the 45 to adapt them to a 33rpm player!!!)

  3. I knew your inspiration straight away - Awesome Ardyth! And thanks for spotting the gaps in my challenge calendar - my brain has been a bit fuzzy these past weeks and I haven't updated it since January.

  7. Oh I love this and what a fab inspiration piece to use. And I'll try to refrain from annoying you and using my CBS word dies too much, I hope you get your hands on them soon, they are fabulous! x

  9. Super b.d. card! Like the layers and the die cut sentiment in raspberry looks awesome. It's so good to have "old" friends who truly know you. :)

  10. On first look I thought it looked a bit like an old vinyl record (only a different colour). Very rock'n'roll. :-) Great card, Ardyth!

  11. Oh right, what a great CASE of a cartoon logo!! The glam dot on your i is such a great touch. And, I didn't know you played violin!! I did too. In fact, that's where my husband and I met ... in grade 7 though. Logan is playing violin now and I gave it a try ... VERY RUSTY!!
