This week's CASology Cue Card is Shop.
While I am pretty good at shopping, I struggled to think of a way to portray it on a CAS card. And then all of a sudden, I remembered shop class from Grade 7 and 8. Ah, Mr. Murdy. You have to be pretty darn brave to give 12 and 13 year old kids access to band saws and welding torches!
I used a single (old) Stampin' Up stamp in Versafine Onyx on kraft cardstock, mounted onto a black card base. Very simple. Very masculine.
Now it's your turn - the DT had a blast with this Cue Card - go check it out!

fabulous take on the cue word, ardyth!!
ReplyDeleteAh, Mr. Murdy. Good memories of Shop class...and a very cute card!
ReplyDeleteSuch a clever take on the cue card! I agree Mr. Murdy was a brave man!
ReplyDeleteLURVE it!! :)
ReplyDeleteOh Ardyth those were the days when safety didn't matter--good times!! LOL Love your card, very fun and I love the sentiment. Ready for lunch tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteI thought so shop class too although we didn't have that at my prim Britih all girls school! LOL! I made up for in it university though as my theatre design degree meant a lot of hours in the scene shop building sets, making costumes, focusing lights, etc...
ReplyDeleteOnce I saw your card I had to go another way though. It's so perfectly crisp and clean and I love the sentiment!
I had the HUGEST crush on my sixth grade shop teacher! I even took summer school with my friend to see him again :)! I love this card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card but I can see this (minus the thank you part) on a T shirt. I love power tools but alas girls were not allowed in shop class when I was in school. I learned them all on my own.
ReplyDeleteI'm really struggling with this one, but once again, you knocked it out of the park, Ardyth! So clever and fun...and perfectly CAS! Love it!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this twist!!! Perfect. Love Kraft right now!
ReplyDeleteHa ... you know this is an image I can relate to! What a brilliant idea, Ardyth ... perfect design, perfect colours! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteMr. Murdy's shop class...gosh, I love how your brain works! This card is right up there with your most clever ideas ever! Is that sentiment seriously part of the stamp set?
ReplyDeleteVery clever and cute, too!
ReplyDeleteOh this is so clever! I love your take on the cue word!
ReplyDeleteI always wished I could take shop class in high school but no such luck! So I played with the tools in our basement instead! Very clever, creative take on this week's cue...as usual! Love it!
ReplyDeleteAmazing card. Loved the sentiment. Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. :)
