That Time of Year

It's getting to be the time of year for graduation cards (for my friend who's daughter is graduating from St. Francis Xavier University). I used my Silhouette Portrait to cut the numbers and the background and used the same hanging-over-the-edge idea as Tuesday's Mother's day card.

It's also the time of year for year-end teacher celebrations and gifts. I'm in charge of the Teacher/Staff year end lunch. Here's the invitation. I had to make 45 of these pretty quickly, so I went hybrid, printing the words in The Urban Way font and then stamping Papertrey's brush strokes and adding the sketchy L'il Inker stars. I like that it looks hand written. (if my hand writing were that neat!)

  1. SOLD! I'm definitely ordering the Portrait! This is amazing! Of course, it wouldn't be Ardyth without the Stickles.

Great job photographing the shiny paper - not an easy task! Are you taking the pictures outside? Love the grey background too (paper or cloth?)

  2. Awesome font - it does look like it could be hand printed (but not my printing either!!!). I am seeing the 'brush strokes' set being used in so many different ways. Quite a versatile set.

I honestly don't know how you manage to keep up! Wish I had just a wee fraction of your energy!

  8. I've been wanting that watercolor stamp and you used it brilliantly. As for the grad card - I love the way you did it and I have a Portrait that I'm learning to use. I'd love more direction on how to do this card if you don't mind. You can email me at bobbarah at gmail dot com.

  11. I have to admit, your grad card makes me a tad uncomfortable ... all that glitter paper that I would have a hard time parting with!! Good for you for using it ... such a wonderful effect and appropriate for the occasion. Cool stripes too. My favorite is how you lined up the numbers though. Very pleasing to the eye.

I held off on the brush strokes thinking, can't I just do that with my brush? But of course I never have, and then it would be as saturated as the stamp. It's perfect for your mass-produced invites.
