Remember my neighbour? I made this card for her friend on her 90th birthday. This week is my neighbour's daughter's birthday. Her 65th to be exact. My neighbour asked me to make a card. No problem, I said - what colour would she like?
Mauve.
Um. No. I don't have mauve, I don't like mauve, I'm not doing mauve. Does mauve still exist? It's such an 'old' colour*.
Actually I spent most of Saturday trying to do mauve and it just would not work! Regal Rose will have to do (I did get permission to use any pastel colours). I used Stampin' Up's Big Blossom, MSE Parfait numbers and an Impress sentiment. I used my Versamark pen to create the silver dots around the flower and the silver border around the 65 flower centre.
I'm going to link this up to CASual Friday's 2 week Birthday Bash challenge.
Those are perfect dots! What a steady hand. There is no room for error on such a clean card as this. I stand in awe.
ReplyDeleteI love the silver around the regal rose...I'm sure she'll love it...even without the mauve :)!
ReplyDeleteLove this! Really like the silver accents. I'm sure mauve still exists it just goes by another funkier name. LOL. Can't say I have mauve either. Plum, purple, lavender sure, but mauve? Next someone will ask you for harvest gold! LOL. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove this offset flower and the dots (now I see what you'd been thinking!) Love the cursive font as a contrast.

Love these two colours together, Ardyth (whatever they're called!) ... astonishingly cool hand doing all those precision perfect embossed silver dots! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteThis is an awesome card. I love the silver with the pink (or mauve). You sound like such a kind person, to go to such trouble for your friend.
ReplyDeleteFAB b.d. card! Makes me wish I still had that BIG floral stamp. Like the pink/wht/silver color theme, and the (I assume) metallic silver liq pearls dots to as an outline is grand! :)
ReplyDeleteMauve is for bathroom walls in old houses! I don't do mauve either!
ReplyDeleteThis color is fabulous - especially paired with silver.
So I'm thinking that you and Shirley have definitely been eating (or drinking) the same stuff because you are both laying down some pretty amazing dotted designs! Well worth the effort, because this is stunning!
Wow!! Love this so much! I bet your neighbor's daughter will treasure this! How friendly are we Canadians, eh?
ReplyDeleteEeek! What a fabulous design!! LOVE that silver embossing and the 65 placement!
ReplyDeleteMauve makes me cringe. Having said that, it looks pretty respectable next to the silver. Way to put some lipstick on that one! Love the embossed dots you did by hand ... a very STEADY hand! Glad you joined the CASual Fridays challenge : )
ReplyDeleteYou must be the sweetest neighbor ever! What a fabulous card too, that big pink flower is so cute.
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty! I'm sure your neighbour loved it! (and now I just need a Versamark marker too)
ReplyDeleteHey Ardyth! Thanks for linking this up to this week's Tuesday Trigger in the Moxie Fab World! I'm so glad you joined in on all the fun! :)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteGreat card Ardyth :) And well done on the mention at Moxie fab world.
