Time for CAS(E) This Sketch challenge #14!
I turned the sketch on its side and used some old Stampin' Up! stamps for the flowers and stems and a Taylored Expressions sentiment. To add some dimension to the flowers, I shaded the edges of the petals with a slightly darker copic marker after I stamped them. I cut yellow circles for the flower centres, sponging the edges with a darker shade of yellow and then mounting them slightly offset on a black circle the same size.
Now it's your turn to show us your fabulous creation based on this sketch!
Thanks for the beautiful inspiration Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteWhen I first saw the card, I could have sworn it was buttons, beads, or anything 3 dimensional. Your shading make it look like it's coming right off the card.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Bobby. I thought the flowers were made from felt because your shading has them popping right off the card! This is fabulous Ardyth! And I'm sending snow your way, which will probably be more than our 4-7" cuz the system will pick up more moisture as it goes over the lake. Sorry. But it is beautiful. Though not as beautiful as your card!!! Bev
ReplyDeleteSeems everyone's in agreement, Ardyth ... the shading is so superbly done, it does seem as though these are 3D elements! Stay warm in all that snow! Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI'm in agreement too, your shading is top notch! Love how you turned the sketch!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! Ditto with everyone elses comments, those shaded flowers ROCK!
ReplyDeleteI love all the dimension you created on those stamped flowers! And the yellow circles look so 3D! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThis is the best thing to see in the duldrums of winter, Ardy! What a fun, cheerful card!!
ReplyDeleteI'm always keen to see how you've interpreted the sketch and this is clever :0) Fab dimension on the flowers.

Very pretty card, I love your cheery flowers.
ReplyDeleteWow! I totally thought the flowers were die cuts! The shading is perfect and what a cute and simple card!
ReplyDeleteOK, totally LOVE how you used a marker to shade the flowers. I was thinking, two-step stamp?! Nah, it's a simple answer, which is fantastic!
