This week's CASology Cue Card is White!
When I think white, I think snow (I know, it's MUCH too early). In fact, I really only like snow in the abstract. Like on cards (although I bought some great new winter boots last week, but I'll be happier if I don't have to wear them. EVER. lol!)
When making all-white cards, you have to rely on something other than colour to create visual interest. You may use more layers than usual or different materials or embellishments to add texture. I chose to use a negative die cut using a Cuttlebug snowflake die, and then I popped up the layer and add lots of sparkle with Stickles and an old Doodlebug gem (they were the best shape!)!
Now flutter off and show us your whites! But first, drop by and see what the rest of the Design Team did with this week's Cue Card:
Brilliant all-white card, Ardyth, because it doesn't need a sentiment. I love the negative snowflake, and the Stickles, of course.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, love it.
ReplyDeleteLorry :o) xx
Love your pretty, glittery snowflake! Simple and VERY effective design! :)
ReplyDeleteI immediately thought of snow too with this one! Can't help it when the days & evenings are starting to feel almost chilly! Eek!
Beautiful, Ardyth!
ReplyDeleteSo simple and elegant...and yes, the stickles really do add the snow power to this pretty!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful. So elegant and the touch of glitter is perfect.
ReplyDeleteThe Stickles totally make this card for me, Ardyth! Gorgeous! I'm with you, I only like theoretical snow. :D
ReplyDeleteThat's brilliant, Ardyth, just like a for real snowflake!!
ReplyDeleteArdyth this is stunning, I love the die cut snowflake and the perfectly applied Stickles around all you edges. How do you manage to be so precise?
ReplyDeleteanother absolutely fabulous card, ardyth!! love the sparkle you added to the snowflake and the edge of the card...
ReplyDeleteFabulous white card. The stickles really make it pop.
ReplyDeleteBrilliantly white CAS card. Love the edges of glitter. I'm not keen on the real stuff either. x
ReplyDeleteLove this gorgeous card, Ardyth! The snowflake is beautiful! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove your use of the negative snowflake! Sparklicious!
ReplyDeleteI love all the white on your card! So lovely! I wish I had time to play along, but I don't think I do :(
ReplyDeleteArdyth, I love visiting your blog because I am always inspired by your cards! I have the Cuttlebug snowflake die and would never have thought of this! What a perfect example of a white card...gorgeous sparkle! Thanks for your faithful (and lovely) comments on my CASology submissions, too...you are so sweet!
ReplyDeleteAlthough, I don't get to make many white cards, they are soooooo gorgeous. Love your pretty snowflake and added sparkle. It sure says a big, winter snow to me. Hope we get a little this year in the southern U.S.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do you get your Stickles on there so perfectly? Mine smoosh all over the place and never seem to stay in a straight line! LOL! Love the big ol' gem in the middle too. :)
ReplyDeleteOK, not only are your Stickles perfectly straight (I would expect nothing less from you) but how do you keep them from warping the edges of the cardstock, especially in the places where the paper is very skinny along the negative snowflake die?! Just love it, Ardyth!
