Happy 9th Birthday!

As you know, my daughter recently turned nine. Here's a photo of her with her 'truffula-coloured' cupcakes. While my baking skills are reasonable, my decorating skills are very, very limited! But I was pleased with the bright colours and how they looked on the green platter!

Yes, there are actually 14 candles, and that's just because that's how many cupcakes fit on the plate!

I have three sisters. One is a trained teacher/lawyer who is currently at home with her children. She is very creative and talented. She sews, knits and also makes cards and she sent this beautiful pink creation to my daughter:

Recognize the stamp from this card from yesterday's post? Can you believe she bought the same stamp?

I love her treatment of the image - she filled in nine petals with stickles and used yellow liquid pearls. She also used an acetate overlay.  I love how the sentiment echoes the curves and lines of the plants. Cool sophistication!

Thanks for stopping by today!
