This week's CASology Cue Card is Precious!
Oh, this is a good one - so many ways to interpret 'precious' - I thought of family, baby, diamonds.
But I kept coming back to this:
I have never watched (or read) TLOTR (I'm sure there's a shocked gasp or two at that news!) but I know there's a precious ring involved, and that led me to my CAS wedding card.
I cut Impression Obsession rings from gold foil cardstock and adhered them to a popped up white layer. I used a 2007 Stampin Up sentiment from a set called Just So Sayings.
This simple white on white format ensures a CAS design, while drawing attention to the focal image and sentiment.
Now it's your turn. Make sure you get some more inspiration from the DT!

Simply beautiful! Love it.
ReplyDeleteHaha! Love your thought process on this one! :) Gorgeous gold foil rings!!!
ReplyDeleteHa! I like your thought process on this...I see I'm not alone on things! ;) Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteI can recommend both the books and movies, but you should start by reading the "Hobbit" first. Excellent writing. Captivating. As is your take on "precious." Gorgeous card. The rings are delightful in gold, and what a fabulous sentiment. Great card, my friend, great card. Bev
ReplyDeleteAdore this card! Clean & simple perfection paired with a beautiful sentiment!
ReplyDeleteCAS perfection, and I love the symmetry of the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteI am sitting here cracking up...as soon as I saw the cue card, that sweet little critter popped in my head.
ReplyDeleteYour card is over the top stunning...and that sentiment is so sweet.
Perfect! So very stunning.
ReplyDeleteLOL! That image is the first thing I thought of too! Great card.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts went to LOTR as well... and this is the perfect way to go from that to a beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteHehe... that face made me smile! Not my idea of precious... but your card... yes, that's precious. For sure!
ReplyDeleteTee hee, Ardyth ... just brilliant, a fantastic idea, so beautifully put to paper! Gorgeous! I, too, have never read the books nor seen the films ... couldn't get on with them after having loved The Hobbit to bits as a child (and since!). Hugs & Bisous, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI know I'm late to the party, but I have to tell you, I kept coming back to the SAME thought! So did my kids when I asked THEM what they thought of when they heard the word "precious." Gollum, I believe his name is, and his precious ring! Too funny!! Love this take on the cue...and the chuckle you provided! :)
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone! I haven't read/watched either. Brilliant interpretation!
ReplyDeleteThis was flippin hilarious! When I hear the word "precious", this is ALWAYS the first thing my mind races to. Thank you for posting this, My Precious, *wringing my hands* so I don't feel so dog gone guilty when I hear the word anymore! Loved the card too. *grin*
ReplyDeleteLove those rings and that sentiment, Ardyth. I must admit I never read any TLOTR either.
